Our rating has nothing to do with the quality of the property, amenities, or cleanliness. Our 2 bedroom condo was very nice and well decorated...with the exception of the kitchen...wine glasses seem pretty basic, and some of the cooking equipment looked like it came from a Goodwill or antique store.
Our complaint, and it really depends on what you are looking for and expecting, is the place is so big. To get to any of the many attractions is a real walk. Walking is fine but at some point it becomes a waste of time....assuming you get your exercise otherwise. The place is simply HUGE. Understandably in order to pay for all the features this place has to offer, you have to have a lot of units but we found it just overwhelming both in size and the crowds. If you have a high tolerance for crowds and walking, you'll be fine.
We got there on a Thursday and we are so happy we did. By Friday afternoon the skyways were packed as well as the water parks. The hot tubs were literally standing room only and I got a little queazy thinking about the water quality. We thought because this is a water park that only allows guests to use it, over crowding would be less of an issue, but the ratio of units to water park size is just too unbalanced. My guess is that would be better in the summer with all their outdoor areas, but then the number of occupied units may be even higher so not sure if it would be better or not.
We enjoyed many of the activities, especially laser tag, but at the end of the day the positives were overcome by the ratio of people to water park size.
The one other complaint...be prepared for the prices. We are not naive in terms of what the norm is at these places, but some things were simply over the top for what you got. A order of nachos which consisted of a bag of no name chips and a tiny container of melted cheese that had no taste was $5.20. The pizza we had from their Italian restaurant was incredibly expensive and mediocre at best. Each topping is $2.29 if that gives you a clue. Two medium pizzas and two salads were over $50. The crust was very soggy...especially so for a thin crust. We usually get one from Pizzeria Uno across the street, but we were lazy as they don't deliver. Don't make the same mistake.
If you are looking for a better balance of activities, walking time and crowd control, I'd check out Great Wolf....that's where we will head again next time. I would also suggest their food prices and quality are better better from our experience.
