I just returned home after a one day excursion to the spa, my second in the last year.
I stayed in room 2211, and upon entering the room, was immediately disappointed to see worn furniture with scratches and water marks, and a dirty carpet. Though the reservation agent I had spoken with was very friendly, the robes in the room were not the size I had requested when making my reservation.
The purifying bath ritual, which I had really looked forward to, was tarnished a bit my unfriendly staff both in the male and female locker rooms. It was a very quiet night at the spa, but staff seemed to be counting down the minutes until their shifts were over, and were hesitant to answer questions. There hurried and cold interactions were very unsettling, and though we left in plenty of time before the spa closed, we were still met with odd stares, and I was unable to shower in the locker room because the stalls were being cleaned. In addition, it was impossible to order food or drinks in the pool area, as there were no staff circulating. We left the spa to place an order at the information desk, which seemed unnecessary.
Upon returning to our room at 8pm, the turn down service, which I had declined on the phone had taken place. Yet another disappointment.
The only sem-positive part of the experience was the pedicure, but that too ended in a disappointing way, when I sought a polish touch up at check out, but there was no one to assist me. I am now at home, repainting my nails after a whopping $120 pedicure, and really upset abut the way we were treated, and about the conditions that seemed to follow us throughout the stay.
I had anticipated a really exemplary experience at Sundara, as my first experience had been, but am really disappointed. I don't foresee returning unless there are improvements made, and would certainly not stay in the same room that we were assigned for this visit. Is Sundara going down hill?
Room Tip: My room was in horrible shape. Maybe you need to spend even more money for a room that's clean...
