“Disapointed”

We had a water and electric site next to the playground and bathroom. Overall fairly flat w/grass and some trees. Bathrooms ran out of tp in the morning. Showers were warm and fairly clean. Would have been nice to have more than 4 stalls. Pool was small for how many sites they had. Water park was fun but super cold. Boats were disappointing-- life vests smelled horrible!!!! Paddle boat took on water when we were in the middle of the river and a friend of ours threw us a paddle from their boat-- very scarey!! The teen checking out equipment did nothing to help us even though we had 2 kids with us-- 7 and 2! Store was well equiped and the staff was friendly. Most likely won't be going back. Hard to sleep since you are right next to the freeway and the water fountain goes off through the night!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your stay at the award winning Yogi Bear™ Camp-Resort & Water Playground in the Wisconsin Dells .I am personally disappointed that our Facilities and staff did not meet your expectations. Our staff is trained to be polite, courteous and helpful and apparently some of our staff has failed on this assignment. We will continue to improve our communication every day so that so that it will be a more positive experience in the future for you and your family.

“The worst place we have ever stayed! Beware!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

The nostalgia from my childhood memories was gone within our first minute after arrival. Our first impression- foreign kids doing a terrible job at check in-they were so confused and it took forever. Then we walked to the pool. They had the music cranked so loud to drown out the interstate noise. But the interstate is so close that it didn't even work. We stopped in the gift shop to use the bathrooms as are our cabin wasn't ready. The women's restroom was covered in urine. I had to have my one year old stand on the sink to put a new diaper on her as the floor was too disgusting. The men's bathroom was covered in poop! All over the urinal and was smeared all over the wall! We complained immediately to the employee who could barely understand the words "dirty bathroom, get it cleaned!"
When our boo-boo chalet was ready we drove down to it and were immediately disappointed. They were so close together with zero grass or area for kids to play. The only area you have is to park on gravel right next to your cabin. The left side of your cabin is the next person's vehicle. Your picnic table and fire pit are in front of the cabin on gravel. Our fire pit was basically in the road. We didn't feel like we could use it while sitting in a chair as our chair would be in the road.
The cabin bedroom smelled and the mattresses were not even covered in plastic so we didn't feel like we could even sit on those beds as they smelled.
Our one year old got sick that night and was miserable. She continued to be sick and also not sleep the whole night so we decided we needed to go home. The next morning we tried to get some of our money back as we had booked for the whole week. We were told by the manager that he forced his kids with chicken pox to all go on a plane to Disney world so basically why wouldn't I do the same(and make my sick one year old stay??!?) So we didn't get any money back. So we paid almost $1000 for 1 night! We got a voucher for 2 1/2 days stay to come back. I explained that we wouldn't be able to come back and they didn't care. After coming home we had tried again to get a partial refund and we were refused. So beware- you will never get any money back after you booked. No matter what! It was a disgusting place that I would never go back to again.

Room Tip: Some of the tent sites were right next to the interstate. That was the only positive about the cabin...

“Bad service and crowded!”

I wish I had so read the reviews. Our expeirence was terrible. That lack of informative and helplful employees is sad. We were packed in like sardines and it obvious they pay no attetion to their own rules. They are in for the $$$$ and how many people can they squeeze into a park. The pool area was over crowded. I was told on the phone everything was easy to get to and walking distance this was not true at all. I hope this helps I hate to see someone spend good money on a nasty camp ground.

“LOUD!!!! DIRTY!!!! and...”

Online the campground looked terrific, but immediately after arriving we noticed (hard not to) that we couldn't even talk to each other without yelling and we were only 5' apart.

The noise from the interstate was deafening... There were lots of beatiful trees but... on the lower level we had a clear view of the interestate less than a 100' feet away and all day and night long we actually went to town to get ear plugs for the rest of our stay.

The pool looked great from a distance, upon delving into it though you quickly realized that saltwater was being used for a reason, black scum along the tiles. The whole week not once was there anyone cleaning the pool... ewww....

Top it off with people canon balling over your head constantly into the pool, chaos everywhere, grabbing the 3 year old up into our arms quickly as the drunks whipped through the campgrounds on the rented golf carts nearly hitting the kids... and nobody doing anything about it.

Great place to party... if you could turn your music up louder than the interstate which many did.

Definately not a family campground, more like "an escape from the city lets get drunk and party till we puke campground for the idiots who could care less about their neighbours.

Our headaches went away each morning after waking and rushing out of the campground to the quiet downtown of the Dells where there were only a few thousand people and cars moving about... soo much quieter than the jellystone noise factory. :(

Ohh... and to top it all off... no... internet is not available in all areas of the campground like advertised, only at the top of the hill by the pool. Not that it mattered, tried out a movie one night on the laptop and couldn't hear it with the volume cranked up and the ears 6" from the speakers due to the noise... oh well... never again will we stay in a yogi bear campground...

“Great place to camp if you enjoy being around a lot of people while you camp.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011 via mobile

If you are looking for more of a traditional quiet camping experience, this probably would not be the place your looking for. We stayed here on a weekend and it was very crowded and busy. The waterpark is nice but was very crowded. However, I think this would be a great place to camp during the week when not so crowded. There are campsites right next to the highway so if you don't want to hear the traffic, you would need to ask for a site away from the highway. They are very accommodating about switching sites. The general store comes in handy for those items you may forget to bring. The bathrooms are pretty clean. There is a lot of stuff to keep the kids busy. Would like to go back during the week when it is less crowded.
