We love staying at the Kalahari Resort!! Its a very spacious resort with lots to do!! The resort itself is very clean and the staff is very helpful! The one thing I found gross was that there wasn't any pillow/mattress protectors on the pillows or beds. Just a thin pillow case between you and the last person that slept there...next time I will be bringing my own pillow and blanket!! We stayed in the "Hut Rooms" which come to find out are the on the very end of the resort in the Sands building which is about a 20 min walk to the main lobby and waterparks...so if you like walking the Hut Room is for you! We won't be staying in those rooms again lol.
The only negative things I have to say about Kalahari is there food options. My husband and I ate at Damons the first night we got there. We were very disappointed in the quality of the food and it was outrageously expensive for what we got. 2 rib dinners, chicken wing app and 4 beers for $80 including tip. I have no problem paying for good food but I hate over paying for crappy food. We also were disappointed in the cafeteria outside the indoor waterpark. We got pizza that was super greasy, I think I used 5 napkins to try and soak up the grease and they need to tell you that the $2 small drink doesn't come with refills...its $1.50 every time you refill it. To top off the over priced crappy food, my husband and I each got a hot fudge sundae by the main lobby...it was $12 for two SMALL sundaes that included 1 scoop of ice cream, a drizzle of syrup, whip cream and a cherry. Probably the smallest sundae I have ever seen, lets just say I will never complain about Culvers sundae prices ever again!! Kalahari, you really need to improve your food selections and you would be a 5 star for sure!!
