“Nice location and good hotel”

I stayed here with my boyfriend and 2 toddlers. The outside of the hotel is nice and the inside was as well. We got checked in right away and got our swim passes and went swimming right away. The room was nice and spacious. The carpet was old but thats just carpet. We got free ski passes and that was nice. The inside water park was kind of small but perfect for the kids. It is right in the middle of the dells so there is a lot to do. I would stay here again.

“Won't stay here again!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

My husband and I were in the Dells for a long weekend and didn't want to pay a fortune, so we decided on the Raintree. Online on their website, it looks like a nice place. We were so wrong!

We got there at check-in time to find out that we couldn't check in because our room wasn't ready. The front desk staff was really rude about it too. We just sat in the lobby and waited....and waited. We saw other people checking in. So finally we went up and asked again and were told OK, we could check in.

We were on the first floor right across from the maid's laundry room! On top of that, the air conditioner unit was incredibly loud. We asked the front desk if we could move because of all the noise, but they claimed they were full. We were waken up early every morning by the noise from across the hall, which wasn't just the laundry, but also maids out in the hall yelling and laughing at the top of their lungs right next to guest rooms. I found that incredibly inconsiderate.

The pool area was OK. However, they supposedly had a bar upstairs from the pool but it was never open when we were there, so it was extremely inconvenient to get drinks by the pool.

We also wanted to keep our extra money and things in a safe. The room had no safe, but they said they had safes at the front desk. They took our money and asked for our name and room number. When we came back to get some money out later, they just asked for our room number and gave us money! They didn't ask for a name or check IDs or anything! We decided then and there to withdraw all the money and just keep it on our person and hope for the best. Any person could have gone up there, given a room number, and gotten that person's possessions! What a way to run a safe.

Overall, there are too many nice places to stay in the Dells. It's worth it to pay a little more and get what you pay for.

We stayed at the old Rain Tree hotel in Wisconsin Dells. It's now called Mykons Resort and Conference Center. The carpet was DISGUSTING. There was a dirty sock under the pull out couch (which was stained and dirty as well). The beds were hard as a rock. We were so sore from sleeping on them. The air-conditioning was bad. We had it down to 60 and was still hot. The noise from outside the room was so bad. You could hear everything that was going on. The hotel had no complementary breakfast only vending machines. If you had problems at night all calls went thru the Hotel Rome down the road and they had to send someone over to take care of it. You also had to check in at Hotel Rome then go to your hotel to "check-in" again because they had key to your room. Very inconvenient. The line at Hotel Rome was long and not a great experience. There is nothing good I can say about this hotel. I can't express enough how DISGUSTING our room was. The carpet was so dirty that u didn't want to walk on it without socks on. Yuck Yuck Yuck !!!!!!! Would not recommend to anyway. For the price we payed you would expect way more. Hotel had a wi fi charge that you had to pay. We extended our trip another day and moved hotels to outside the dells to a best western in Portage and that was SOOOO much cheaper and SOOOO much cleaner and had awesome beds. Its was everything and more that you would expect a hotel to be. It was 20 min from Dells and less than $90. Wish I would have done that from the beginning.

Room Tip: research it pays off in the end

“S.T.A.N.K.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2011

We signed up for a Dells weekend at a Travel & Adventure Expo. The caveat being we had to listen to a 2 hr vacation rental presentation from BlueGreen. They booked us in this place (now called the Mykonos and is part of Mt. Olympus). IT IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST! The free internet service is unreliable. Save your $ and go elsewhere... unless you want to wear your shoes in the shower.
