“Great location, spotless, not the best night's sleep, though!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

First, the good news.
1. This was a cost-saving alternative to staying in downtown Milwaukee. We were visiting for a festival and found the location to be very convenient; the short drive from the lakefront was worth the difference in price. It was right off the highway and super-easy to find.
2. The staff were exceedingly professinal and helpful. Simple as that.
3. We're freaks about expecting pools/hot-tubs to be clean. This pool area was absotely impeccable -- well maintained and clean all around. We travelled as a couple but it is worth pointing out that it's a great facility for kids -- the pool has a water slide, and the hot-tub is very large in a figure-8 shape, so adult hot-tubbers can be separated from rambunctioius teenagers.
4. The entire hotel was spotless. I have stayed in numerous hotels over the past year and found this to be the cleanest of them all -- far surpassing much more expensive hotels.

Now, the not-so-good news. Neither of us slept a wink. The pillows were abominable. This is especially surprising since there were six of them in the room (a king bed). Each pillow was labelled with a ribbon and a little tag that identified "soft" or "firm." Nevertheless, between all of those pillows, neither of us was comfortable. ALL six of the pillows were lumpy foam pillows, not the luxurious down were accustomed to at many hotels. If you're coming here with your own car, bring your own pillow.

The bed should have been comfortable, as the mattress seemed fairly new. However, it was WAY too soft and we both had terribly sore backs after tossing and turning.

Just to put this in perspective, my better half can sleep through anything, most anywhere. He can comfortably sleep on a sofa. But this mattress was too uncomfortable for him. I feel we've made a fair judgment on this when I say that it was one of the worst mattresses we've ever slept on.

So, it's a mixed bag. I don't want to deter anyone because in most respects, it's a great hotel. When you make your decision, consider how easily you sleep ...

Thank you for your comments about our service and great cleanliness, I will share those with our entire staff. In regards to the bed comfort during your stay it was a sleep number bed that has adjustable controls for degrees of firmness. We do have many rooms without the sleep number so we can offer guests a choice if they find the comfort an issue. Again, thank you for your wonderful comments about our Hotel.

Sincerely,

“Fun Stay!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

We stayed in the Holiday Inn when my son was playing in a golf tournament. The hotel was not your typical Holiday Inn. It looks like a Frank Lloyd Wright design, very nice and clean! It is very convenient to everything. The hotel has a great pool and the hot tub was nice but could have been warmer. The breakfast was fine but would have been better if it was included in the price of the room. The breakfast room was in the basement--- a bit of an odd location. The rooms were roomy and comfortable. The bathrooms were updated with a full shower and granite counters. The bathroom also offered a soaker tub!! Great bonus after a long day on the golf course. There was a flat screen TV in the bedroom with an adequate number of channels.Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: A room on the top floor would have be quieter. We were on the first floor and could hear the guests...

“Hold your breath ...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

Very clean hotel that presents well. Refurbished rooms still smelled like cigarette smoke. The fourth room we tried finally was good - but didnt have twin beds we ordered online. No free breakfast. Small work out facility. Manager was very nice and helpful.
Beautiful new decor and lobby was exceptional.

“Classy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

This is a new Hotel.
Everything is clean and polished.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
Large rooms, very large showers with front & back shower nozzles.
Bed was a bit on the soft side but OK.
Approximately 70 TV channels on large flatscreen TV.
Large work area with ample outlets.
Bose wave radio with remote.
Everything was perfect, although a bit pricey for my budget.
Excellant restaurant across the street with amazing breakfast.
Very quiet and excellant tempurature control.

“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

Nice hotel and friendly staff but don't get a room overlooking the pool. Our stay was fine except for the smell of the pool water that permiated the hotel room. The room was well appointed and comfortable but the chlorine smell was way too strong.
