This hotel was excellent. The kids loved the waterpark the the food was great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone visiting the Minocqua area.

We stayed at the Waters May 30th, 2008. The staff there is amazing. They are very, very nice and very, very professional. The staff at The Waters goes out of their way to make you feel special! Our room was great. We love the decor. It is the only place we stay in Minocqua

The area really doesn't have much to offer as far as hotels. It is the best choice for the money of $119 a night for double queen standard. The play and stay for a golfer is great, 20% off at Timber Ridge so I played 3 rounds. If you add in the Continental breaskfast for a family of 4 and the golf discount it brought our room price down to $90 a night. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived and had to get the manager involved. The waterpark is for kids 10 and under. The pool depth only went to 3'6". The bottom surface is rough and the whole family had abrasions. I am a smoker and enjoyed the balcony or patio option, I thought that was smart. We just had a 3 night stay to break up a week lake house stay with friends. The stay at the waters seemed to make our vacation seem complete and affordable.

Just returned from 3 nights at the Waters. Bed was very lumpy -- wouldn't hurt them to turn the mattress once in a while. The blankets were low-grade polyester and it was very difficult to maintain an acceptable temperature in the room overnight. Don't plan on getting a nourishing breakfast. The breakfast food was basically frozen Sara Lee pastries. The glazed donut holes that I had were still partially frozen/cold. Way too much sugar for breakfast. The bagels are basically bread -- not true bagels. When the supplies ran low, the person running the front desk had to go in the back to replenish the food. They need to hire someone to maintain the food quantities as they were out of most items when we arrived for breakfast 90 mins before the end.

Room was overpriced -- hey, newsflash....it's Minocqua, not downtown Chicago. Lower your prices! The pool is advertised as a 10,000 sq foot pool. Here's the reality....the actual pool itself is really small and really shallow. The slides were fun, but a little scary for younger children (too dark, too fast). Floors in the pool area were extremely slippery -- can't believe more people weren't slipping all over the place.

If you have a loft room in the summertime, get ready to roast if you're sleeping in the loft. If you crank the A/C up, then those sleeping on the main floor freeze.
