“Not worth half the price”

I was extremely disappointed in my experience at the Wyndham Milwaukee. The small single serving coffee maker was incapable of making a decent amount coffee for actual coffee drinkers. The two different ones we tried leaked more onto the counter top than they got into the cups. And when you have to wait 2 minutes between brewing, it really slows down the morning for five coffee drinkers. NO FREE BREAKFAST. Not even a bagel...or cereal...or a freaking piece of toast. Super 8 has free breakfast, free coffee (in room and in lobby) and even free coffee on the road (if you buy their Super 8 cup)

The beds were apparently designed by a circus show. The springs could easily eject someone from the bed. I haven't slept on a bed this crappy since I was 6 and thought my bed could double as a trampoline.

The indoor pools was more like a large bathtub tucked in the basement that you only use when you want to hide the dead body. They advertise an outdoor heated pool. They don't advertise that it is only open seasonally. What is the point of a heated pool in the summer in the midwest. Really? When it is 100 degrees who wants to sit in hot water. Seems to me that a heated pool would be used more when the weather was cool/cold.

I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Don't choose one. There is a Motel 6 close to the airport. Use that instead of this.

“The Best for Less”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I was invited to Birthday Party for grandson on Friday January 20, 2012. I was just going to go down and come back to North woods that day. Weather turned out bad and saw 10 accidents on way down. I had booked on Hotwire.com a room at the Wyndam. I was surprised at customer service the cleaniless of room and help from Hotel staff. I was able to purchase the room for about same price as motel 6 and that made it even better. I plan to stay at Wyndam Hotel more often. Thank for good memories...

Room Tip: Great veiw from buidling number 5.

“Dark, dirty, and broken”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

This may not be the absolute worst hotel I've ever stayed in, but it is definitely among the worst. I was traveling with four business colleagues, and we had numerous problems:
(1) At checkin, two of us received free breakfast coupons and two did not. We reserved through the same travel agent under the same group rate. The front desk attendant refused to give the coupon to the other two and only did so after we insisted that she talk to her manager - twice.
(2) The hotel is poorly designed. If you do not use the elevator by the front desk, you have to use the stairs, which can be a problem with a lot of luggage. Perhaps the front desk staff should explain these things to new arrivals?
(3) The hallways smell like a mix of dirty cat litter and some foreign odor that I don't even want to think about.
(4) The decor of the sleeping rooms looks like, in the words of a colleague, a covered wagon. If the furnishings were nicer, it may not matter. But the result is a dark, dingy room.
(5) My sleeping room had two beds, and I needed both. When I went to sleep after a long day of travel, the first bed I laid on was not supported by the frame. As a result, the box spring kept dropping through the frame down to the floor. When I switched to the other bed, the sheets did not fit, leaving a portion of the mattress exposed. So, in the middle of the night, I had to remove the properly-sized sheets from the broken bed and put them onto the other bed so that I could sleep on a mattressed that was covered and didn't fall through the bed frame.
(6) Don't check your luggage. We tried to check our luggage in order to get breakfast, and their notion of checking luggage was to put it in an unattended, unlocked meeting room off the lobby that several people were walking in/out of.
(7) Remember those breakfast coupons? We shouldn't have bothered - the breakfast options were so poor and the food so bad that I wished they hadn't given it away.
Even for the convenience of location to the airport, I highly suggest avoiding this hotel. I think I would prefer to camp out in the airport.

“It's not even clean....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Yes, the location is nice. Yes, some of the staff is friendly. Yes, it's pretty cheap. But if you've ever actually stayed at a decent hotel, then you know this Wyndham is nasty. Stains on the beds, clogged showers, overall tired and gross feel. The concierge pointed us towards the elevators, where a sign said, "elevator does not stop on this floor." Turns out all the floors had that sign. At least we had one laugh before we left.

“Comfortable and Clean”

Stayed for a park and fly out of MKE. Clean and comfortable. Needs updating, but not so bad. Restaurant is very good with good service. 2 free drinks and 10% off the meal at check in. Stayed here before and will stay again, just wish they would stick some $ into the place to update. Best of all not on the national bed bug register.
