This seems like an older hotel desperately in need of some updating. I read the other reviews, along with the manager's responses, and it seems that the hotel has recently been renovated. If that is the case, I would hate to see the hotel prior to the updates. Check in was a bit odd - the receptionist was either interviewing a young man for a job or flrting with him while we were trying to get our room. She kept talking to him rather than finishing up with us. There were some open cans of soda and empty cups on tables in the lobby and by the elevator along with trash on the floor. The wallpaper was peeling and there were heavy scuff marks on the walls. When we got to the fourth floor, we were greated by the sound of an apparent party going on in one of the rooms at around 10:30 PM. The door to the room was wide open. Room 420's sign was apparently missing so it had been replaced with a piece of paper with the numbers printed on it. Our room was nothing special and the furnishings seemed like they were last updated in the 80s. Since my husband is a diamond preferred Hilton member, we got free breakfast at the restaurant. I had a made to order omelet with some hash browns. They were both so oily that I could not finish them. We have stayed at lots of Hiltons across the country and I really can't believe that this one hasn't been improved upon, even if that means gutting it and starting fresh. Im really not trying to be rude or demeaning here, but honestly, I would not recommend this hotel or ever stay here again.

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at our Hotel!
It did appear that you had mixed feelings of your stay, being critical on certain items. I can assure you, though, that our staff works hard to present the best possible levels of service, image, and comfort.
Last summer, the Hilton Milwaukee River as well as The Anchorage embarked on a project designed to enhance both our Hotel and our Restaurant. Some of these changes have been much more dramatic and immediately visible, while others more subtle and behind-the-scenes. To date, we have:
* Upgraded our televisions to 37-inch flat screen models
* Completely refurbished our restaurant, The Anchorage
* Upgraded our Lobby and Banquet furniture
* Upgraded our outdoor Patio that overlooks the Milwaukee River
* Upgraded our guestroom bedding, linens, shower curtains/rods, towels, and in-room toiletries
* Re-designed our menus in The Anchorage to reflect a rich tradition of seafood selections while incorporating new cuisine
* Implemented a complimentary weekday Happy Hour Hors D’Oeuvres reception
Future projects, which begin this month, will include replacing the carpeting and wallpaper in our guestroom and public corridors, painting and varnishing, enhancing our complimentary high-speed wireless internet system, and adding in-room safes to our guestrooms to name a few.
To date, we have received numerous, complimentary comments of our status/service/amenities/restaurant, and apologize if you felt you received less.
I do look forward to welcoming you back to our Hotel for any future Milwaukee-area visit!
(Especially with further changes coming!)
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance!
