This was a great place to stay when you visit Castle Rock lake. We rented two rooms. They were clean, had a couch, micro wave and plenty of room to unwind. Breakfast is not the best. Real basic stuff. Oh, well what do expect for the great price.

The staff was very nice but...but the location of this Super 8...being so near to the major highway, leaves us with about 100 huge semis idliing all night long. While the hotel seemed clean and there was no evidence of any bedbugs (I am paranoid and checked throughout our stay) the shower curtain absolutely reeked of urine. The room was so small with two queen size beds that we were bumping into each other. We did not complain to the manager because we were too tired from our drive to change our room so that was our own fault. I still don't think that a bathroom should stink under any circumstances.
I was grateful that they accepted dogs but i think they can update their bathroom fixtures and their ammenities. The toliet paper dispenser was rusted and the shower fixtures were dated, clean but rusted. The towels were fresh, the linen was fresh as well but appeared worn.
Again, the staff was nice upon check-in. Breakfast looked tolerable, we just had coffee and hit the road because we were tired from listening to the trucks idle all night and the smell of the room was disturbing.

So nice to stop after a long ride on the bikes at a friendly and very clean place

We stayed here two nights in Aug. while in the Mauston area for a family reunion. Hotel was clean as was the room even though it appears to be an older facility. The only problem is the room was that the sink backed up. We notified management when we checked out as it did drain, although quite slowly. We did not partake of the breakfast as we had family plans since we were there for a reunion.

Our only major complaint was that the pool was not usable our first night due to an electrical problem causing no light in that area. We had traveled 4+ hours to get to Mauston that day and had booked this hotel specifically because it had a pool (and was well-rated on Tripadvisor). We understood that this problem was inadvertant and it was fixed the next day. Upon checkout we asked for a room reduction for the first night as all promised services (the pool and hot tub) were not able to be delivered. The desk clerk said she could not do it but that the manager would contact us on Mon., Aug. 15 to rectify the problem. Well today is Tues., Aug. 16, we are home and of course have not heard a word from the Super 8 manager. Not a good thing!
