“won't go back..rather sleep in a tent”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

Staying at this hotel was the worst part of my recent trip to Wisconsin. I usually don’t bother writing reviews but I was so disappointed with the crappy service and the place itself, that I felt compelled to share my experience.
For the price we paid for the room, I was expecting something comparable to a Holiday Inn instead it was like a sleazy Motel 6. The room left a lot to be desired. We could not figure out how to switch on the lamps…there were no switches on them and the wall switches didn’t seem to work. We wound up using the fluorescent light over the sink and a working lamp in the corner for measly illumination.
The bathroom sink was located in the sleeping area while the shower and toilet were in a tiny separate room. This was totally inconvenient and made modesty difficult. The shower was awful….it keep going cold. When I mentioned the cold shower to the front desk, I was told it must have been because of the other person in my room using water. That is lamest excuse I have ever heard for a lot of reasons and especially since my roommate was sleeping while I was showering.
The pool and surrounding area looked filthy, and I was afraid to use it for fear of getting a bacterial infection. The continental breakfast consisted of lousy coffee with pre-packaged sweet rolls.
If you are looking for a disappointing experience and a staff with a stinky attitude, this is the place to go.

“Stay here if you love the smell of formaldehyde.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

The room I was given was uncomfortably hot and had a noticeably bad smell that reminded me of high school biology. I wanted to switch rooms, but was told this was not possible. I was told bad smells were not a reason to switch rooms, but I do wonder how bad a room has to smell before it becomes a valid reason.

“Terrible!!! Do NOT stay at Lodi Valley Suites”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

My family, my boyfriend, and I were traveling to the area for the Tough Mudders competition at Devil's Head Resort. I originally chose this hotel for its good location and affordable prices; however, when I called to make reservations the woman gave me some attitude. I booked two rooms but I wasn't sure if there would be 4 or 5 guests. I told her to put us down for 4 guests and I would let her know if anything changed. She threatened me saying if I try and sneak people in they will charge me a fee. As odd as I thought this exchange was, most of the other hotels in the area were already booked for this event so I just kept the reservation.

On the day before the event, we checked in at 5PM and she demanded payment in full before we even saw the rooms. My family's double queen room was fine; however, our king room was hot and smelled like chemicals and rot. Needless to say the A/C unit was not working properly and also seemed to be expelling the foul smell that permeated the room. Shortly after checking in, I called the front desk and asked if we could change rooms. My request was denied because she claimed all the rooms were booked. Instead she offered to have someone "take a look" at the A/C unit. In the meantime we went to dinner. When we came back, the room was still stuffy and smelled terrible. My boyfriend and I decided to just leave (we don't live that far away) instead of enduring a night in that awful room.

When I went to check out around 9:00 PM or so, she refused to issue any refund. She said the A/C unit was working fine and that we "pushed the buttons". When I brought up the terrible smell, she said that is not a reason for a refund. Furthermore she claimed that the only way to get a refund is to hand the keys in right away if didn't like the room. When I brought up that I called her shortly after checking in to complain, her excuse was that we waited to tell them about the A/C problem.

I was willing to work with her, I asked for a partial refund...a prorated charge for the hours we did have the room. She refused to even work with me, she just kept saying that they don't do refunds. When I first called to complain, I gave them a chance to fix the issue and in the end that was a $90 mistake. Anyone that values nice rooms, good customer service and fair policies in a hotel should NOT stay here. What a dump.

Room Tip: If you do have to stay here inspect your room before you pay!

“Not great ... but not horrible either. What can I say? I'm cheap!!!”

I spent a weekend here in August 2010 because I was attending a reunion weekend at a friend's house in Lodi. With not enough rooms for guests she recommended the Lodi Valley Suites just because they were one mile from her house. I read mixed reviews ... leaning mostly towards negative ... but I decided to take a chance on the place anyway. It was very conveniently located less than 1 mile from the party location so that was a huge plus and it was not expensive. We didn't spend much time in the room but the bathroom was clean and that's all I really care about. The rooms are not really SUITES. The name of the hotel is kind of misleading. Our room consisted of 2 queen beds, a small round dining table with 2 chairs, a dresser, and a TV. The sink/vanity was in the room instead in the bathroom which is convenient when someone needs to use the sink and there is someone indisposed in the bathroom. The air conditioner was kind of loud but we were so tired from partying at our friend's house that we fell asleep almost as soon as our heads hit the pillows.

The service was satisfactory. We had to wait a few minutes for someone to show up at the front desk when we arrived to check in. Check out was very easy. Morning coffee service was OK; weak coffee and prepackaged danish. Needless to say, we ate out all the time.

Bottom line, this place is OK if all you need is a place to sleep and shower. Otherwise it's nothing special.

“Helped make Memories nicer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2009

I took my brother up to visit Merrimac Wisconsin ( which had not been there since we were kids 10/12 etc.). I have been to that area and have stayed at the LODI SUITES on a number of occasions with my wife. It is close to the Ferry, OKEE and other areas I visit. I have always found Raj & Karen to be very nice and accommodating. The rooms have been clean and very reasonably priced.
They have a pet room so we have been able bring our dog.
If you want a nice pleasant room, reasonably priced, convenient to most local attractions this is the place.
