“Relaxing, friendly, well kept property”

Our family of three spent two nights at Dillman's for a wedding taking place on the grounds of the resort. From the moment we arrived, everything went well. Our Chalet, #2, was perfect! It was immaculate, roomy, and comfortable. The upstairs bedroom had a small porch off it, a large closet with shelves and plenty of room to hang clothes, and a roomy bathroom. The bedroom had a comfortable, king size bed; a side chair, two bedside tables, and lots of room for luggage. Downstairs was a bedroom with two twin beds, a nice sized closet, and a kitchen/living area. The kitchen was great, although we used little of it. It had a full-size refrigerator with freezer, microwave, plenty of cabinets, and a dining table with four chairs. The living area had a sofa, side chair, gas fireplace, and a TV.

The grounds are well kept and beautiful. There was a small playground and plenty of room for walking, taking in the scenery and lovely lake, and relaxation. The staff was accommodating and flexible regarding the wedding activities. There had been a lot of rain and the bride and groom weren't sure if they should have the ceremony outside as planned, or inside the tent used for the reception. Stephanie calmly offered the jittery groom several options, even postponing the ceremony slightly to lessen the impact of rain and wind. In the end, the ceremony was held outside, on the peninsula, which was a beautiful location, and one that will be remembered fondly.

My only small quibble was the squeaking front door inside the chalet, and the blinds on the front door that bounced back and forth on the door when we entered or exited. Having a ten-year old with us meant she was sometimes asleep when the door opened from visiting family and friends. Since the door is close to the downstairs bedroom, it was a bit noisy when it was opened and closed.

Overall, we were very pleased with our chalet, the grounds, and the staff, and would not hesitate to recommend the location to friends and family. We hope to return in the future, and stay longer.

“Fabulous, Friendly rustic resort for art, fishing, campfires, and weddings!”

We recently held our wedding weekend at Dillman's Resort. After having spent a great deal of time on White Sand Lake as a child, it seemed to be the perfect spot - and we were right! Stephanie, Sue, Denny and Todd made the entire experience enjoyable and utterly perfect. My only caveat here is to make sure your expectations are in line with the realities of the north woods. Do not plan a wedding here if you are tied to your cell phone (signal is poor except Verizon), if you can't handle the uncertainty of the weather, or if you can't appreciate the laid back nature of the location. But if you're like us and love the north woods lake culture, you'll be supremely pleased with Dillman's.

They have a wide variety of accommodation options, from individual cabins to hotel-like rooms. All have kitchens or kitchenettes so you can hit the Triggs on the way up and make many of your own meals on site. There are grills and campfires available to all, and plenty of activities to do for all ages. You can rent fishing boats and pontoons, use kayaks and canoes, swim, read, use a mountain bike or bring your own, play tennis, take an art workshop, play shuffle board or horseshoes, play on the playground (if you're young or young at heart), or just sit on the pier and listen to the loons and the northwind.

As for the wedding planning, Stephanie was fantastic. She and her family were excited to have us coming (all 120 of us) for the weekend. She helped us coordinate with various local vendors for catering, flowers, videography, etc. Dillman's provides the bars so she worked with my parents to make wine and drink choices. Steph and her family helped us plan a large BBQ Friday night for all guests, a ceremony on the point, dinner and reception under a huge tent Saturday night, and a continental buffet for departing guests on Sunday morning. All went wonderfully. Even the weather decided to cooperate perfectly. When challenges arose, or there were changes to the plan, the Dillman's team was ready and flexible. All of our guests had an amazing time that weekend and those who did not get to stay at Dillman's (because we overflowed) wished they could have.

We cannot say thank you enough for every ounce of effort and thought that made our wedding incredible!

Whether you want to plan a gorgeous northwoods wedding, or just want to get away from the hustle and bustle for a few days, Dillman's is the perfect choice.

Room Tip: We love units 2, 3, 4. Can't beat the view!

“We were so impressed and will be visiting again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2011

This resort is extremely well run, clean and friendly. Even all of their golden retrievers welcomed us! Our dogs were happy with the accommodations and so were we. The cabins were spotless and have everything you need to make your stay just like at home, but only better because of the lake view! We used their covered marina for our boat and had no worries when it rained and stormed. This resort is an easy drive to either Boulder Junction or Minoqua for shopping and restaurants.... but because the resort is so clean and peaceful, you may not want to leave. We are planning on staying at this family owned and operated resort again and again.

Room Tip: Every cabin has a lake view!

“Starry nights, sun-filled days, campfires, swimming, fireflies...LOVE IT!”

Although I reference trip advisor often when planning vacations, this is the first time I have felt the need to post a comment.

I have been vacationing at Dillman’s on White Sand Lake for over 30 years. We have grown to know them like family. We are so pleased with all of the services and amenities they offer, most of them free of charge. In my experience, they are friendly, happy, and willing to help make our vacation great year after year.

My brother actually had his wedding at Dillman’s a few years ago, and we had over 80 of our friends and family stay at Dillman’s for an extended weekend and we still talk about what fun it was. The Robertson’s and Skotterud’s were helpful from start to finish and were very attentive to our needs. They live on the resort, and anytime we have needed anything, they have been approachable and immediately helpful.

The resort is located in the woods, and while there are animals in the woods, we have found the accommodations and grounds very clean and kept up-to-date. Personally I love being on the lake and surrounded by nature. If you are interested in a northwoods vacation, give them a try. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, as a matter of fact a co-worker of mine is going up there in a few weeks and I will be up in August.

I can't say enough good things about Dillman's!

Sue, Denny, Stephanie and Todd have kept Dillman's at the top of our family vacation list for a few years now! Their high-level of customer service isn't found at other area resorts and it's what keeps us coming back year after year. The property itself is amazing -- a true peninsula, surrounded on all sides by gorgeous White Sand Lake. They're pet-friendly, which is a big plus, and the units and grounds are well-maintained and comfortable.
