“Great For Girlfriend Weekend”

We had a wonderful time at the Bentley-Wheeler farm house. We loved the kitchen and coffee area. It was so nice to be able to bring snacks and not have to pay crazy prices or go out for every little thing! The four of us get together every year...just for a few days so having the whole place to ourselves let us focus on the visit and just being together. We had a lot of laughing and catching up to do on our 'girl getaway' and we have never been called quiet. Having the whole house was perfect! We were like little kids choosing our rooms (they are all beautiful) and having two bathrooms was awesome! The price when split four ways was amazingly affordable. Better than we could have done sharing a room at any hotel chain with added bonus of always being together and able to run around in comfy clothes. Normally, we go somewhere new each year. After being in your beautiful house...we decided that return visits and traditions might be a good thing! Thanks for sharing this beautiful home with us!!
The added bonus is the house is within walking distance of some great restaurants and an organic food co-op.

Room Tip: All rooms are great. They are upstairs - so must be able to climb stairs.

“Ballroom suite bliss”

I'll keep this short and sweet. My wife and I stayed in the ballroom suite and had a great time. The owners delivered a tasty, locally-made breakfast to our room every morning (finally, a B&B with choices for breakfast!) and the suite was amazing, at a great nightly rate. We felt like we had our own house to ourselves because the suite was so big. Yes, we did have a dance together since it is a ballroom. The owners were great as well. They were super-friendly and even let my wife take the Twilight Series of books home with us (she got hooked on them while staying here). She tried to ship them back after reading them, but they told her to keep them. Who does that? Oh, wait, the owners of this B&B do.

If passing through the area again, we'd definitely stay again. You should too. The whole area is a hidden gem in the upper Midwest.

“Overnight stay, but more later!”

We live just "up the river" from LaCrosse, on the Great River Road in Fountain City. As we were attending a wedding, it was easier to spend the night, dine out and travel back the next morning.
Having done this before and been disappointed with local motel accomodations, we searched out and found this B&B.
Boy, are we glad we did!
Magnificent restoration efforts and attention to detail are immediately on view as you drive up and the interior goes beyond that. The owners upgraded our stay to The Ballroom as it was available and we walked into, well...beauty. Awe inspiring, sheer beauty.
Comfortable bed, warm furnishings and the morning breakfast basket left at your door included warm cinnamon buns, fresh blueberrys and more.
As owners of our own turn-of-the-century building, we understand what it takes to undertake and complete this kind of project. The owners have not missed a thing and any traveler should not miss this opportunity.
We will be recommending this B&B to any of our clients that are looking for a unique place to rest and enjoy as they travel through the area.

Room Tip: For the few extra dollars, ask for the ballroom...you will be glad you did

“Great weekend!”

My 2 sisters and I spent 2 nights in the Ballroom Suite. This space (2500 square feet) is fabulous! Never once did we feel like we were in a hotel setting, we were "home". Ken and Jay made us feel very welcome, and made sure we had everything we needed. The Breakfast basket was fantastic! Freshly made, scones, on a warm plate were delicious! Cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit and milk and juice. Even fresh coffee beans and grinder! Perfect! The house is amazing, perfectly restored, with plenty of history. Thank you so much for a great weekend!

We had just one night to stay in La Crosse and choose the Bentley- Wheeler. What a wonderful home. We travel to La Crosse occasionally (from California) and will stay here again.
