We selected the Guardian Angel B & B after reading the reviews here on TripAdvisor, so I wanted to give back. Don and Carol were very accommodating hosts. I had mentioned we were coming to town to use the outstanding bicycle trails - Don found a map of the trails and highlighted some specific points of interest for us to consider (especially the Rotary Gardens).
We were greeted when we arrived (2 hours late - but called to let them know) and given a tour of the beautiful home and property. The newest highlight is a fountain and patio area just installed - it was a great place to sit and read and relax.
Our room was in a small suite upstairs - there were tons of beautiful knick-nacks to look at (almost afraid to touch). There was a lot of space, a soaking tub (LOVED IT!) and a small patio off the back. The room had lots of sunlight and the temperature was pleasant - they would have accommodated us if we had wanted a window-unit air conditioner, but the fan in the window was plenty of circulation. The queen sized bed was very comfortable, and there was even turn-down service with chocolate mints!
They recomended a couple restaurants for dinner and we took their suggestion (and drink coupon) for the Speakeasy - pretty close by and a restaurant with great service and even better food!
But let's not forget the BREAKFAST! The food was fantastic - first a apple, cinnamon, oatmeal - granola-like warm dish, then fresh cinnamon rolls. The main course was quiche - with ham, spinach and 4 cheeses, some hasbrowns and fruit. The quiche was delectable! Finally, there was a dessert with lemon bars, some candy and some freshly made rhubarb cookies. We were too full to enjoy the dessert.
Don and Carol were wonderful hosts and the B & B was a great experience for our first B & B stay. Thanks!
