We didn’t arrive at the Days Inn until about 1am. We were on our way to Houghton Michigan, but decided to stop for the night.
When we got inside to the front desk, there was a hand written sign stating, “BE PATIENT, WILL BE BACK SOON”. After waiting for 20 minutes, a man came to the front desk dressed in jeans to assist us.
We were quoted the rate of $79.99 on a Monday night at 1 am, which to me seems very high. We were too tired to look for something else so we decided to take the room.
The hotel did not have an elevator, so we had to carry our things up a large stair case. When we got to our room, I noticed the bed was sloppily put together, and the room had a moldy odor. There furniture was outdated and nicked up, and the sheets were very thin and scratchy.
Not what I would expect for $79.99.
After we were settled, we went down to find a vending machine and discovered the front desk person watching TV, lounging in a recliner in the lobby. Tough job.
And finally at check out, we left at 7am (total time spent at hotel 6 hours); we waited at the front desk for another 20 minutes to get a receipt. The maintenance man must have saw us waiting, because came around the corner to see if we had been helped. We told him that we had not been, so he stepped in the back office to get someone. The man who checked us out was sitting in an office literally 5 feet from the desk, there is no way he didn’t hear or see us! To make it even worse his name tag stated that he was the General Manager!!!
We only peaked at the pool area, it seemed nice. And the breakfast was pretty standard with muffins and cereal.

Yellow thin towels in the bathroom
Lazy front desk staff
Pros:
24 hour pool area
Standard breakfast
Clean bathroom, even the shower curtain was fresh
Overall, I would not stay here again.

I am very very sorry that you had a bad experience. We are under new management, with a different manager. I hope that you will give us another try, so we can make your trip enjoyable. When passing through our area again please do not hesitate to ask to speak to the manager and I personally will speak with you and try to meet your needs. Thank you for your input, it helps us to know where we need to improve.
