We recently stayed at the Super 8 in Black River Falls for the state Legion baseball tournament. The entire team and several families traveled together and stayed at the hotel. Check-in was long and tedious as several teams got there around the same time, and only one person was doing check-ins. She was extremely polite, courteous, and helpful and worked hard to meet everyone's needs. The daytime desk staff was great to work with. The nighttime staff was quite as pleasant, especially if you were one of the teenage boys we traveled with.
Overall, the hotel itself is nice. The lobby is gorgeous, and the pool area is a pretty good size. Our major complaint was the "continental breakfast." For the price we paid to stay here, we know we should expect an extravagant spread, but this was far below what they could have offered. Donut holes, 2 types of dry cereal, apple or orange juice, toast or waffles, and not a whole lot else. The staff member responsible for keeping the breakfast foods stocked must not have realized that the hotel was filled to capacity, as we rarely saw her, so many in our group got frustrated waiting for food to be refilled and resorted to going to a local restaurant for breakfast.
On the plus side, the rooms were pretty quiet, in spite of the fact that 3 different teams were staying there at the same time, and we all know how loud teenage boys can be. Didn't have any trouble with loud noises at all. The staff did a good job of quieting anyone who even began to get a little boisterous.
