We camped at Baraboo Hills campground early this fall. Found it to be the best Family oriented campground I have ever seen. I plan to recommend it to all my friends. Some of our favorites were: the Yurt we stayed in - very clean, spacious (could accomodate up to 12 people! A yurt is a large (very large) semi-permanent ttent type structure. It was furnished with 3 sets of bunk beds along with 3 futons. It had a large table and chairs in the middle and mocrowave, toaster, coffee pot and the whole bit. It also has carpeted floors, and best of all it was situated right on the small "lake" which had all kinds of water activities in it for the kids (big and small) to play on. In addition to the "lake" the campground also offers a regular pool for those who prefer a "cement" flooring to their pool. Our kids favorite activity was the many different kinds of bikes they had for all members of the family. The campground also features different kinds of bouncy pillows for the kids to use up some of their energy on. On many week-ends the campground also features special "theme based" events which offers fun for the whole family. There is always something exciting going on at this campground! The staff is well managed and eager to help or answer any of your questions. If you are looking for an extraordinary camping adventure for your family, this is the place to go! I truly recommend the "Yurt" experience, but the campground also has many sites available to hook up your own camper or motorhome if you choose, or cottages available also for the more traditional "resort" campers.Check it out - tell Laurie, "Ruth sent you!"
