“WOW! Best Family Campground Ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

We camped at Baraboo Hills campground early this fall. Found it to be the best Family oriented campground I have ever seen. I plan to recommend it to all my friends. Some of our favorites were: the Yurt we stayed in - very clean, spacious (could accomodate up to 12 people! A yurt is a large (very large) semi-permanent ttent type structure. It was furnished with 3 sets of bunk beds along with 3 futons. It had a large table and chairs in the middle and mocrowave, toaster, coffee pot and the whole bit. It also has carpeted floors, and best of all it was situated right on the small "lake" which had all kinds of water activities in it for the kids (big and small) to play on. In addition to the "lake" the campground also offers a regular pool for those who prefer a "cement" flooring to their pool. Our kids favorite activity was the many different kinds of bikes they had for all members of the family. The campground also features different kinds of bouncy pillows for the kids to use up some of their energy on. On many week-ends the campground also features special "theme based" events which offers fun for the whole family. There is always something exciting going on at this campground! The staff is well managed and eager to help or answer any of your questions. If you are looking for an extraordinary camping adventure for your family, this is the place to go! I truly recommend the "Yurt" experience, but the campground also has many sites available to hook up your own camper or motorhome if you choose, or cottages available also for the more traditional "resort" campers.Check it out - tell Laurie, "Ruth sent you!"

Room Tip: Rent a Yurt!

“Terrible attitude from owners”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

The poor review is strictly for the bad attitude the family that runs this place has. It is clear that they are burnt out. Never (never seems like an exaggeration but it's true!) was there a smile, a thank you or any pleasantries, not just with us but anyone they interacted with- I was watching their interactions with others while in line waiting to speak with them. The place itself is cheesy but fun. Kids love it. We've been coming here every summer of about 6 yrs. Each year the attitude is worse. We're going to do the owners a favor and go elswhere next year.

“Great place for Kids!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

This is definitely a place for kids. It’s like the Disney World of campgrounds. The beach and swimming pond are awesome! The kids had a blast with the dunk tank and bouncing pillow. There were so many things to keep kids busy, we hardly saw them the entire week.
One big draw back are the bikes on the bike route. We unfortunately had a campsite right on the route. There was a constant flow of bikes all day long. I wish we would have been informed of this ahead of time; it was not very relaxing dealing with all the bike traffic. This was not only a nuisance, but it was a real safety hazard. We had several crashes out in front of our site. Do not leave your vehicle near the bike route, it will likely get hit by bikes racing out of control. Three times that week, we had to get out of our car to move the bikes out of the road way so we could exit the campground. VERY Irritating!!!!
The sites are very private with woods between most of them. Some of these sites are very tight for bigger trailers to fit in. I would ask when making your reservations if the site is big enough to accommodate your size rig.
So, if you want a place to stay that is full of kids and activities this place is for you. If you want a relaxing peaceful camping trip, I’d go somewhere else

“Loved this campground!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

Despite having intermittent rain, we had a great weekend at this campground! We found the facilities clean, the staff very friendly, the activities well planned, and the grounds excellent. With the purchase of wristbands they had about 30 fun bikes to use, a bounce pillow, & spaceball. Free activities included a nice pool, a FANTASTIC beach with tons of fun floaties, water balloon fight station, playground, & tractor ride. We liked the selection of the gift shop with ice cream and snacks. The sites were nicely spaced with lots of trees separating sites (we stayed at #146). Bugs were not a problem which was very surprising. The pond was definitely the highlight. My only suggestion was not charging a $5 deposit with wristband purchase & empty port-o-potties more often. Wi-fi was available near the office but not at our site. We plan to return to this campground and will recommend it to others.

“2nd year in a row. Fun for the whole family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

This is our second year up here and the kids LOVE this place. We decided to get the big cabin this year and liked it. Granted, it's still pretty bare bones (bring your own linens) but the A/C was nice to have, as was the shower, sink... We go up with other friends and my kids have so much fun. They loved the Water Wars this weekend, filling up on water balloons and soaking the staff as they drove by on the wagon. The whole campground is family themed so everyone is kid friendly. We have fun going up there with other families too; if it were just us, it would still be fun, but it's nice to have the adult company.

Room Tip: Book in the winter time to get a good spot if you really want a specific ara
