This is my first trip to the area and I had no idea of where to stay. None of the hotels appealed to me, so I decided to give this place a try.
I was amazed at the effort these people put into making people feel welcome and their dedication to total accommodation. The town has a lot of pride and is quite interesting. Yes, the town is small, and yes, it is old, but the kindness and spirit of the people make it special. Every hillside inch of the town has been utilized. The inn has so many thoughtful details and "homespun" decorations that it is fun to walk through all the twists and turns and stairways. The squeaky wooden floors and stairs and the radiator heat let you know you are in a historical place. There are several sitting areas, large screen TVs, and a stocked snack bar. Free WIFI was a pleasant surprise. My room was excellent in every way.
Mike, little Mikey, and Wendy take you right into their family and do everything imaginable to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I even got a guided tour of the surrounding areas after dark. Mike made a special effort to present a tasty, hearty breakfast.
I have ZERO complaints. Walk in the door with an open mind, and you will, too.
Can't wait to return with my wife and share the experience.
Peace from Louisville, KY
