As a former Four Seasons employee (not kidding) I'm a bit of a snob and didn't want to stay at an Econo Lodge. We were traveling with our dog though, so our selection was limited! We called ahead on our way to the hotel December 23rd and (after checking to make sure it was okay to bring Fido), we made reservations. When we arrived 15 minutes later, we were warmly welcomed by the front desk agent, who informed us that he had already brought down extra towels and blankets to our room. He then offered my kids cookies and me a cup of tea--all in the first 3 minutes of walking in the door.
The room has been recently renovated--new paint, carpet, bedding (it's great) and mattresses. They have not replaced the sink and it was old, but hey, I didn't really care. We slept like a bunch of rocks.
In the morning we had the typical better than a basic continental breakfast in a cheery room with a fireplace off a pretty lobby. We liked it so much that when we drove through on the return home we marked it on the GPS so we could return. The return was as pleasant as the first stay, only this time it wasn't a surprise. As we checked out, we were filling up coffee cups with hot cocoa for my 3 kids. Rather than give me the evil eye, the breakfast hostess actually offered me a carrier and suggested we try the French Vanilla creamer. Not only will we definitely return, we already have! Try it, you won't be disappointed. :)
