“home away from home”

I stayed for 2 months. Being a woman traveling on the road can be daunting. But the staff made me feel so welcome and the GM (Joyce) was always trying to keep the guests comfortable. The rooms are nice and clean. There is a great laundry room and an actual, usable business space.
The views are wonderful and I wish they would use their grounds for the guest's enjoyment with more outdoor living spaces. Overall, great place to stay, much better than the Comfort Inn.

Room Tip: Ground floor

“Wasn't the best”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

We stayed here 1 night when we went to visit the Christmas Lights in Wheeling . We had 2 queen beds and the room was really clean and updated, but we didn't like the enviroment of the hotel.. Don't really know how to explain it... You can tell the hotel is an older hotel that has just had renovations.. No elevators , hallways just look old... They did serve fresh baked cookies and had tea and coffee in lobby which was nice... Not much more to say... We wont stay again, but I guess it is ok for just a overnight stop

“wasn't the friendliest stay...”

there arre no elevators for starters and when told that we were going to have a hard time climbing stairs there was no offer of any help to carry luggage up/down stairs. Then to top it off the door closest to our room on the 2nd floor was blocked off for unknown reason so not only did we have to go up approx. 15 stairs we had to wall all the way to the other end of the hallway. Maid then knocked on our door at 8:30 am when checkout is at 11am..won't stay here again and if you have any kind of disability in the slightest (walking, climbing, carrying) do not get this hotel. Room was clean and very nice and loved the shower (due to the curtain flaring outward giving room while in tub).

Room Tip: bottom floor if u have disabilities with walking, carrying or climbing...

“Much better than you'd expect from an Econo Lodge (former Holiday Inn)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

I was in the Wheeling area for a weekend in October 2011 and decided to stay at the Econo Lodge in Triadelphia mainly because of the price and because so few hotel rooms in the Wheeling area seemed to be available. My initial reaction when I was making my reservation was, "99 dollars for an Econo Lodge? You've got to be kidding. There must be some huge event going on that causes all the hotel rooms to jack up their prices." Well, it turns out that the industry down in Wheeling has a lot of out-of-town workers and hotel rooms are rather scarce. It was a good thing I'd made a reservation! This particular Econo Lodge is not like a typical cheap Econo Lodge property. I learned that it used to be Holiday Inn, and you could tell by looking at the interior.

Very nice facility for an Econo Lodge. My room was quiet, clean, and very comfortable. I appreciated the fact that the hotel has a business center with computers where guests who don't travel with laptops can hop online to check e-mail or whatever for free (although it was a very slow Internet connection). The hotel has an outdoor pool which I didn't get an opportunity to use. The breakfast was very good... sausage gravy and biscuits, cereal, yogurt, bagels, donuts, coffee, juice, etc. The one thing that was funny is that the marquee out front mentioned the make-your-own Belgian waffles. However, I didn't see those in the breakfast room. :-(

All in all, the experience was pleasant. A couple minor issues did crop up though. First, there was no laundry bag in the room. I had to go to the front desk and ask for one. Second, the TV channel lineup was somewhat limited. No VH1. I love watching the weekend video countdown, but VH1 was not one of the channels offered. Third, there was a slight problem with the toilet as a bit of the waste backed up overnight and caused a huge stink when I raised the seat to use the toilet the next morning. Yuck.

Overall, I'd recommend this Econo Lodge for any traveler who ends up in Wheeling. Good place to stay overall.

“nice clean place”

If you just want a nice, clean, and friendly place to stay this is it. Only 1 mile from Cabella's and about 6 from the casino this was a great choice for us. Breakfast was good and they have wireless. Mini fridge and mirowave in the room. We will definitely stay here again
