We were traveling to Pittsburgh from Savannah, trying to get as far as possible in the shortest amount of time. We had planned on staying in Charleston, but when surfing the TripAdvisor reviews of hotels and checking rates/availability, it became very apparent that we could either stay at one of them OR eat dinner the next day. We noticed tiny, little Summersville, WV on the map and thought, why not? One of the best decisions we made!
After trying in vain to book a room from the car, with the signal strength rising and falling depending on our location, I called the hotel directly and spoke with Cindy. She was quite personable and more than happy to help me book a room, with our arrival in only a few hours.
Upon arrival, we found Cindy to have left. However, the desk clerk that checked us in (sorry, didn't get her name) was equally happy and helpful. The room was great-spacious and clean and quite; all we could ask for on our short stay. They even had tea with the complimentary coffee in the room- a big deal for a non-coffee drinker like me. Check out was just as easy, with Helen even helping us with a reservation for Pittsburgh.
We didn't partake of the breakfast offered as there was a restaurant down the road that my husband wanted to try.
