I am wheelchair bound the property has been nothing but TOPS in Service, Housekeeping, and being Handicap Ready. The doors wide enough, roll-in Showers and plenty of room between Furniture. Front Desk and Housekeepers are the Best I have had in 30 Years on road.

Even though the hotel wasn't nearly full, we were assigned a room right next to the Guest Laundry. Worse, It turned out that we were positioned directly over the Hotel Laundry, too, finding out only when we experienced noise and vibration so horrible that we thought was a military helicopter was landing on top of us. When we called the Front Desk in alarm, they denied knowing what the disturbance was. But when we insisted, a staff member came to our floor "to explore" and told us it was the Hotel Laundry right below. This wasn't midday, either, but dinnertime when most guests who were going to be staying were probably in their rooms. To our pleas, we were promised they would do no more laundry that evening, and they were true to their word. But it put us on edge the entire time. Another bad aspect to this otherwise beautifully-appointed hotel with indoor pool/whirlpool is its location with virtually nowhere to eat nearby. (It's also across from a Middle School--is there no zoning in this area??) The Desk Clerk told us our only choice for dinner was a Mexican restaurant down the road; when we said we didn't want to eat Mexican, she told us we'd have to drive 15" to a mall for a chain restaurant meal. We tried to instead to get snacks at the 7-11 down the road, but found it dirty and questionable, with all kinds of threatening (drugged?) youths hanging out front. We explored the confusing roads on our own, which led us to a nearby Hardees where we had hamburgers. These things definitely spoiled our entire stay. The effect could have been greatly mitigated had the Desk Clerk put us in a better room location in the first place and then told us the entire choice of restaurants in the area. What, did they think we were shmucks?

Recently renovated rooms have the bedding, and modern furniture of your upscale boutique hotel, including glass artwork and open lobby concept available in the newer hotels. Wingate Inn employees are some of the most friendly around, and this Wingate is no exception. The location on Interstate is easy for travelers to just jump of the highway for a night. A whirlpool is available at the site, as well as full business center and meeting rooms. The only drawback was on the 6th floor I did have some water pressure issues the first day, and the soundproofing between rooms was minimal. But the comforts of the room, friendly service and great breakfast were a pleasure.

I stayed here for 90 days back in 2010 while doing some work in town. I was not using Trip Advisor then so I did not post about my experience. Now that I am posting, these folks deserve honorable mention.

My stay was very impressive. Even though they were under remodeling at the time, everything was done to make sure I was not disturbed.

They have a weekly social at a sister property next door that is fun, the front desk people were always glad to see you and the housekeeping staff was very good at making the place sparkle each day.

The drive from downtown is nothing and the morning traffic a minor distraction for those of us used to larger cities.

You can not go wrong staying here, not for the money or the location.
