A group of teachers and I recently took a large group of students and parents on a field trip around West Virginia. Mike Day, general manager, was super to work with before and during our stay. When we arrived everything was ready and check in was a breeze! He even arranged for pizzas to be delivered to feed our hungry students when they arrived. The rooms were clean and the kids loved the pool. Mike and the rest of his staff were always polite and helpful. I plan to come back with my family for a future visit. Thanks, Mike!

I used the Choice Hotels website to make my reservation, and was confirmed for a smoking room with king bed. When we arrived, the room they had reserved was a handicapped-accessible room with full bed -- totally inadequate for 2 people. The best they were able to give us was a room with 2 double beds. Since their website had screwed up my reservation, I felt they should have given me some consideration on the price of the room -- but they didn't. I didn't even get an apology. It was like the desk clerk was doing me a favor by finding a room at all. If I hadn't been pressed for time, I would've gone to another hotel -- for example, the Parkersburg Red Roof Inn, which has bigger rooms for about half the price. I only chose the Comfort Inn because it was close to the function we were attending. The breakfast was ok, I guess, but the room where they serve it is so tiny we couldn't even find a place to sit and had to take the food up to our room. I won't be staying there again.

My husband and I normally go to this hotel due to work and stay for a whole week twice a month. The staff are great, awesome breakfast, the rooms are clean and it looks like it has been updated recently since it has a modern look to it. I have been a lot of places and this one is one of my favorite one.

Room was spacious, comfortable, and clean (although the carpets could use a good cleaning, I never go barefoot in ANY hotel room anyway)
Indoor pool area was clean and provides towels. I was pleasantly surprised with the included breakfast. Along with the usual fare, scrambled eggs and ham were offered one morning, omelets and sausage the next. Coffee was always available in the lobby.
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Printed directions for us to various places.
The only thing I found mildly annoying was the charge of $1.50 per day for the in room safe. If you don't use it, you have to ask to have it removed from your bill at check-out.
