I've stayed at the Blennerhassett while on company business since the mid-1990s. However, this hotel underwent a major remodeling around 2005 with an eye to recovering a measure of its Victorian past. In this it has largely succeeded. The rooms are tastefully appointed and a welcome respite from the standard hotel decor. The lobby is quaint, with a cozy paneled reading room containing a working fireplace just off the main lobby. The hotel restaurant, Spats, is warm and inviting and offers a good selection of reasonably priced, delicious entrees. Finally, I have always found the hotel employees to be friendly and helpful. I will be traveling to Parkersburg again in the near future and will certainly be staying at the Blennerhassett again.
