Clean. Not very accomodating to out of town guests. Had to wing-it on the fly.

Don't expect to get any Platinum member upgrades here! Was told it was booked when it really wasn't. Did get nice clean room next to the stairs and vending, let me mention that the walls aren't that thick.

Front desk wasn't that helpful either, ended up driving around looking for more food options (which is very limited). Has a Subway and local food place, & Dollar General next to hotel, about a mile down the road I passed one gas station. I finally realized the only food was back over the toll bridge in OH.

In my driving I did drive out far enough to find the Casino, which looked nice. But other than that, nothing there and no where to turn around on two lane road. If you do go driving to see the river/views, make sure you have a full tank of gas.

They have mice we were on the 2nd floor . First of all i would like to say the employees were very nice but the manager jim mennypenny was very rude I was explaining to him what had happened and about the mouse and he looked directly at me and said we dont give refunds i was not asking for a refund so i asked to speak with his boss and he looked at me and said what you see is what you get i turned and walked away well one of the very nice maids apolized and stated that he was told there was mice i asked her what was his bosses name she stated that it was the owners well hopefully they see this because i asked to speak to one and jim stated that they dont want bothered

My stay at this HI Express was a pleasant experience - the room, lobby, breakfast area, and pool area were all very clean. The front desk staff were friendly and accomodating as were the chambermaids.
The pool/spa area is open from 7am - 11pm and complimentary breakfast is served from 6am - 10am. My room was well-appointed and also included a microwave, refrigerator, and a good blowdryer. Although the hotel does not yet have shuttle service to the casino, they assisted me in booking a cab - the cost is $9.10 one-way.
I would recommend this property as an excellent alternative to staying at the Mountaineer Resort.
