The guy who runs this place is rude. The place smells aweful, the pool is tiny and the internet is not FREE the only thing that was ok was the breakfast but how can you screw up cold cereal? And the fitness center is a joke a bike and a tread mill and they aren't in the best shape. The room was dirty and the bedspred had burns in it, the carpet in the hall are all worn wall paper peeling off the whole place is shabby. Even some of the front desk staff were unkempt. There is nothing like being checked in late at night after a long drive by some one with really bad B.O I will never stay there again I could pay less to stay in the same town sure the other place dont have a pool...but if it rains there are sure to be some puddles most of which might be deeper then the pool at the Amerihost

I called for reservations at the Amerihost Inn and requested a handicap accessible room for three adults. They put us on the second floor - with NO elevator. Pretty hard to get a power chair up the flight of steps. My husband is 81 years old and is a World War II Verteran and wears two long leg braces. He can walk a little bit but not much. We were there under stressful conditions to begin with - to attend a funeral - and then we encounter this. The room was NOT handicap accessible and my husband could not take a shower because the bathroom had no grab bars in it. The clerk was VERY rude to us and asked my husband if we went around the country complaining about our hotel room so we could have a free night and that it was not her fault that there were three adults in our party. I will never stay at this motel again and PLEASE if you are handicap - DO NOT go to this motel. We could not even get a small discount for all this.

This was the 4th time I have stayed here over the past 10 yrs or so that we have been traveling from Indiana to visit our friends. Not a happy occasion this time: the funeral of our good friend.; Another couple and I stayed one night. Had to get reservations on short notice and took what they had left: My room on first floor was "smoking" and smelled like it but not so badly that I was uncomfortable. I had 2 queen beds. Adequate bathroom, well lighted sink and counter separate from bathroom. Everything reasonably clean and in working order. Shows some wear. Ice and vending machines handy. One computer available for public plus access in rooms for your own laptop, I believe. Pool just off lobby. Continental breakfast consisting of coffee, english muffins, wrapped pastries and maybe more. This seems to be the best choice in town and is very busy and popular with business people, well drillers and anyone else who needs accomodations here. Bob Evans and McDonalds adjoin the place.

this is the only hotel in town that is clean enough to stay in and they know it so they over charge for there rooms and are rude (i thought southern people were supposed to be friendly) they charge for wi-fi thats just greedy and if you have to stay there for a long time the charge for a fridge and microwave i stay in a lot of hotels and always dread when i have to come to this one
