“At least the pillows were soft”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

My family and I went to the WVU-Pitt game this past Friday and stayed one night in the Best Western. The room was clean, but had that damp smell to it. The bed was as hard as a rock. All three rooms were suppose to be non-smoking but one obviously had been smoked in. The breakfast in the AM was edible for me, but my kids turned their noses up to the scrambled eggs. Overall, I've stayed in worse and would stay again but it not the nicest place in Morgantown.

“Horrible Hotel!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

Our family stayed at this hotel during Homecoming weekend. We got in late and there was a pizza box holding the side door open with pizza still in it. The hotel halls reaked of cigarettes and our room did to even though it was suppose to be non-smoking. My daughter saw a roach in the bathroom which we killed and we found a few more the next day. The maids never vaccumed the room, made our beds or dumped the trash - explaining the roach infestation! They did clean up the towels and gave us 2 out of 4 towels to use for the next night. I will NEVER stay in this flea bag hotel again. It cost us $135 dollars a night and we feel totally ripped off. I will think twice about any Best Western hotel - that was my first experience with one and it was lousy and expensive.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel!

“The worst dump”

My family and I booked a 2 night stay because we stayed in several BestWesterns in different states and never had a bad experience. Well upon check in we were told that they only had a smoking room available. Once we put the key through the door we were shocked. The room smelled, the beds walls and bathroom was filthy. The bathtub was dirty. We decided we were going to suck it up and stay. Well when we woke in the morning my husband yelled pack our stuff we are getting the hell out of here. I looked up and there were several bugs coming out of the picture frame on the wall. My husband went to the front desk and went off jersey style. He showed them the pictures that we took with our iPad and demanded our money back from the night before and the next day. We hightailed it to the Euro-Suites which was soo much better. They have plush beds clean rooms quality linen. I hope I don't have nightmares tonight about my experience at the Best Western

Room Tip: Don't stay herer

“Good room, great location”

After reading the reviews I was very scared about checking in to this hotel. But, I was very pleasantly surprised at what we found. The room was pretty big. Even with a king bed, couch, coffee table, and desk, there was plenty of room for our two year old to run around. This hotel is extremely quiet. At most hotels, you can at least hear people opening and closing doors, or showers being turned on in the mornings, but not here. It was great. This hotel is close to I-79, shopping, restaurants, the WVU Campus, the WVU Coliseum, WVU Hospitals, and Mountaineer Field. Although a bit over priced, it is a good place to stay.
I only have a few complaints. The bathroom is tiny. There is barely enough room for one person at a time. The counter, toilet, and shower are all right up against each other. Most of the time when we tried our room key, it would not open on the first try. It often took 3 or 4 times to get the door to open. The TV did not show you the channel number and they do not get Root Sports. I was very upset to be in Morgantown during a football game, knowing it was on TV, but unable to watch it in my room. They do not have WiFi. Surprising this day and age. They do have an Ethernet cable and it was very easy to use, however, the cable in our room was on the opposite side of the room from the desk. The sheets on the bed the first night were stained, although they looked like old stains. The faucet in the bathroom was dripping, not loud enough to make much noise. Overall, it is a good hotel. I would defiantly stay there again.
