“Perfect road trip stop - best beds ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2010

We were on the road and needed a spot to stay for the night. We love Hampton Inn beds, so that's what we chose. The phone reservation went well. It's a little hard to find the entrance if you're not paying attention--it's a tiny drive with a tiny "turn right" sign which we missed because we were expecting an entrance off the main drag. Check-in went quickly and the luggage trolleys in the vestibule were super handy (it's amazing how much you need for one night with a toddler). Signage states they're renovating but we didn't see any mess anywhere--and it all looked renovated already.

The room was like any other Hampton Inn we've stayed at--nice and cozy but spacious enough so as not to feel cramped. The king bed looked awesome--and from past HI experience it was what I was most looking forward to. It is the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Fluffy comforter and lots of decent pillows... Ahhh, that's the good stuff. The bathroom was super bright and clean and the towels were actually somewhat soft--a great change from that starched business you get at cheaper places. And lastly, there was an entertainment center/cabinet/dresser with a nice-sized flat panel TV, a mini microwave, and a mini fridge!

The free breakfast was great, too--something you'd likely pay at least $10 for at other places (if they even have a restaurant). There were freshly-made waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, and fried potatoes for hot food--and donuts, muffins, whole fruit, fruit salad, yogurt, cereal, milk, and juices for cold food. Plus hot chocolate, tea, and coffee.

Overall we were quite happy with our stay, though we were disappointed that they didn't have an indoor pool and my husband said the exercise facilities were lacking. But it's definitely somewhere I'd recommend.

“Better than a Motel 6...barely”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 June 2010

Found a human hair on my bed. Sheets and pillows were of very poor quality and uncomfortable. Quality of furniture was "Motel 6" at best. TV was old (analog) and small. Fitness center was laughable. Pool was OK, but, no other options (i.e. Hot tub, Sauna). No plugs for laptop, phone, etc. However, the bathroom was clean. Area around business was scary (many adult clubs). Traffic control in front of street was very poor (not enough traffic lights, it took me 10 minutes to cross as a pedestrian). There is an out-of-business car lot right in front of the hotel (tacky and weird). However, staff was friendly. Business center is only one lonely, small station. Wireless is good!

“Solid Hampton Property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2010

I stayed at this property for one night while in the area for a sports tournament. I was sold a room with two queen beds for $88.

The property is located directly off of I-77 at the Mineral Wells exit. The exterior is typical for a first generation Hampton. The property appeared to be well kept and the parking area was noted to be well lit.

Check-in was flawless as all documents were prepared correctly based on the initial reservation. Staff in the lobby were polite, clean and helpful.

Elevators cabs and hallways were clean and well lit. There were some periods of time where the wait for the elevator was longer than should have been necesary for this size property.

The guest room was clean and appointed to the standard Hampton level. Furnishings were a little tired and I was surprised to see a tube television instead of an HD flat screen. Internet service was very solid with no drop outs and a very good speed.

The bath area was clean and stocked with typical Hampton amenities. Water pressure was good and hot water was quickly available at the spigot.

Morning breakfast was good with a nice selection of fresh and processed foods. The breakfast area staff were a highlight. They were cheerful, helpful and seemed focused on customer satisfaction.

Check-out was literally a thirty second affair as the room was prepaid. Counter staff wished me well and invited me back.

This place is nice for a Hampton level property. I would not hesitate to stay there again should I find myself in the area.

“Best stay ever!”

The staff were wonderful and the room was very clean. There were no hidden costs and the hotel even provided a paper bag (some know it as a doggie bag-for humans) with our breakfast which also included a choice of juice or milk. That saved us time while preparing to get back on the road.

“Outdated, but clean Hampton”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2008

I stay here for business purposes on occasion and it serves my purposes well. However, this is a somewhat outdated Hampton Inn, with dark, dreary interiors and only an outdoor pool. Breakfast is very limited here and wifi service is just okay. This place is in definite need of an overhaul. Easy on and off I77 though and close enough to a few fast food restaurants and a Cracker Barrel next door. If I was staying with my family, I'd probably opt for the newer Holiday Inn Express next to the Cracker Barrel or the Wingate Inn in nearby Vienna, WV. Both are far superior to this facility.

  • Liked — Easy access to Interstate, I'm a Hilton Honors member so I get points
  • Disliked — Outdated and dreary. No indoor pool or hot tub.
