“The only hotel in town”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We stayed in this hotel for two nights while skiing at Winter Place. This is the only hotel in this little town. We were unsure exactly how to pull in the parking lot. There was an adult superstore right infront of the hotel, and they shared a parking lot which was muddy and full of potholes. Our check in was smooth, and the man that checked us in was friendly. When we went into our first room it smelled weird, and we were quickly given another room. Our beds were very hard, and I think the roll away bed we rented from them was much more comfortable. On the second day there we called the front desk and told them we needed fresh towels. We were told to leave them outside the door. We left the hotel, and when we arrived that night our clean towels were laying in the floor outside of our door. This could not be a "normal" or "appropriate" way to leave towels. You dry your face on those, and you do not want them in the hallway floor. They had only given us two towels, and they knew we had more than two in the room because we had requested a roll away. We called the front desk to ask for extra towels, and the guy had a bad attitude. They had not serviced our room at all. The didn't change the garbage or make the beds, and to top it off our towels were left in the hallway all day. This was inappropriate. We would only stay in this hotel again, because it is so close to the ski resort. However, beware, the only food in town is one Subway. The next town is about 8 miles away, and I would much rather make the short drive and stay at a nicer hotel.

Room Tip: No advice really. The whole place needs an update.

“Never again”

This place was awful. Nothing good about it. Adult superstore next to it. Crappy driveway and parking lot full of potholes. Run by foreigners. Owner/ staff very rude and didn't speak good English. Place seemed shady and had a cigarette smell. Wouldn't recommend to anyone and never coming again. If u pay with a credit card they take ur credit card info but if u pay in cash they want an extra $25 deposit in case you mess up the room. Also take copy of drivers license that they keep which no one else has ever done when we traveled. Breakfast was terrible. Tiny muffins, tiny bagels, juice and coffee and oatmeal. Room was decent but for the cost t isn't worth it. There was mold in the freezer, which I am sure there is a health issue there. Also, the foreign owners, while we were checking in, were speaking in their language in front of us when we were trying to check in. That is RUDE. No gas stations or restaurants around.

“This "Hotel" has Adult Superstore in shared parking lot.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

Hotel is very run down. Parking lot has pot holes the size of craters. There is an ADULT SUPERSTORE right next to it and nothing else around. Very creepy and seedy. The only traffic we saw were truckers coming in and out from the porn store.
We decided to forfeit our already paid for stay and look for another hotel. This place makes the Bates Motel look like the Park Plaza.

Room Tip: chose not to stay there even though we paid for the room in advance

“.... Not what the reviews say.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 March 2011

While reading the reviews most people said that this was a nice place to stay! With a mini fridge a microwave, wireless ect.. But when we got to the inn... kinda scary lookin. We have a family of five with teenagers, we use the internet a lot. There was barley any wireless, it did not reach the ipods either. The bed spead had a burn hole in it, it appeared that there was one person working, was not close to anything, no fridge, no microwave, lawn was full of cigaret buds out front. It was only around 60 $ to stay the night though. Still would not come here ever again. I dont now if the motel has gone downhill since the other reviews.. but this is just not the place for us and we will not be staying here again.

“Worked great for a one night stop on our way to SC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2010

Check-in was efficient. The room was clean. Wifi worked well. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The bathroom had recently been refurbished. The location worked well for our overnight stop on the way to South Carolina. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. It would be a good idea to get dinner before arrival since you either need to get back on the toll highway ($2 each way) or order a pizza in. A lot of bang for the buck! Will stay there again...
