My mom and I stayed here for two nights. We were ziplining with Class VI one of the days (something everyone should do - it was amazing) and the Country River Inn was only 5 minutes away from it. You do not have a view of the gorge, but are literally five minutes away. The owners were very friendly, and the place was very clean. Breakfast is your basic continental. There is no bathtub in the rooms, only showers. I will definately stay here anytime I'm in that area.

We agree with previous reviewers ... the Country River Inn is very clean and comfortable and the owners are quite friendly. Our stay compared favorably to our next one at Hawk's Nest Lodge. The advantages to the Inn are: it is closer to town and some excellent hikes, the rooms are newer, and it has a hot tub. The breakfast wasn't quite as good as that at Hawk's Nest, and there isn't a view of the gorge, but the value was good and we would definitely stay there again.

This place is far nicer on the inside than it looks on the outside (a former brick elementary school). Our room was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. The continental breakfast had a large selection, including some homemade baked goods. The hosts were very helpful with travel advice. Be careful when driving not to get too close to the edge of Gatewood Drive, though.

We only stayed for one night, but would definitely come back. Rick and Lois have converted an old school into a super place to stay that is clean (cleaner than any hotel room I've stayed in in a long time), quiet, and they provide very friendly service.

We stopped in Fayetteville to do the TreeTops Canopy Adventure (zip lines), and wish we could have stayed longer to try the river rafting too.

The only negative of our stay was that my team lost at Badminton - the girls (with Delilah's help) beat my son and I!
