“Any port in a storm”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2010

We were shocked to find all the nice hotels in Fairmont, West Virginia booked solid mid-week. Apparently there are lots of construction workers in the area and their company books the nice hotels Sunday through Thursday. With a tornado warning being issued for the area we decided to stay at the Days Inn Fairmont; it was the best of three we checked out that had availability. If it hadn't been for the tornado, we would have kept on driving. The location was good, right off I79 and close to restaurants. Outdoor corridors, dated furnishings, very basic continental breakfast with no coffee since their coffeemaker was broken. Lots of trucks in the parking lot. My recommendation; make advance reservations at a nicer hotel if you're planning on stopping in Fairmont.

“Stay some place else!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

No fitted mattress pad or sheet. Woke up in the middle of the night sleeping on the mattress-UGH. Noise all night long. Coffee was lukewarm and very weak. Very overpriced!

“Bugs and wrinkled sheets”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2010

Difficult to find off the highway, filthy carpets, wrinkled sheets, 2 roaches in the breakfast area, uncomfortable bed. If we'd seen the bugs at night instead of the morning, we'd never have stayed there but hurricane rains drove us off the road.

“Overall Great Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 April 2010

I got to the hotel late and the night shift clerk was very friendly. I asked for a late checkout and he advised me I would have to ask in the morning. The rooms was in okay condition ....the only complaint was the parking. They were so busy it was hard to find a parking place. I woke up late (my fault) the next morning and went to the lobby. The desk clerk said I could get a late checkout and I explained I was late for a meeting, she went in the back and gave me a grab bag with some breakfast items in it. I was very suprised and pleased. Now that is good customer service which is hard to find!!!! I came back to the hotel and one of the staff memebers helped me load my vehicle. I was really impressed with the whole staff. I often visit the area and I will be definetly staying at this motel everytime I come to Fairmont.

“This place is a dump; Not worth saving the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2010

I booked this motel for a one night stop on the way home from S.C. Let me tell you that the pictures you see on the website are very deceiving. First of all, I only paid $53 (plus tax) a night so I suppose it doesn't give me much right to complain, however I'm going to do so anyway. This Days Inn was very run down and seedy. I felty like we were staying in a college dormatory. We were exhausted after driving all day so we unfortunately had to put up with it. The carpets were stained, the beds uncomfortable, the room was musty and moldy, I could go on. It's not worth saving the money. Do yourself a favour and spent the extra $25 a night to ensure a decent sleep. I learned the hard way that you get what you pay for. After this stay, I don't think I'll be staying at any more Days Inns in the forseable future. The only positives that I can give this motel was that the night time desk clerk was very friendly and pleasant and that it was right off the interstate.
