We arrived in Elkins with no room booked. My husband liked the look of the outside of the Motor Lodge, very quaint. We were able to get a room which was very clean in the main building. Yes the property is dated, but the place was absolutely spotless.
There is a restaurant on the premises, seemed to be doing good business though it seemed a set menu from the advert outside. We didn't dine there as we don't have big appetites & went out looking for something lighter than they were offering. Instead, we ate at the lovely diner across the street that was also doin good business.
However, I had asked the proprietor what time the breakfast would be available from, she said 6.30am, we went to the desk to checkout at 7.15am expecting to pick up our breakfast at take it with us but there was no sign of any, restaurant was in darkness. Lady on the desk did offer to put the coffee on & started to bring out the danishes, bagels etc but we wanted to get on the road to Harpers Ferry.
