I stayed here overnight to visit family. Not only was it clean, it was quiet and the staff were just fine. Sure, the place has not been updated since it was constructed, but everything worked just fine, including those pesky LOW OUTLETS on the wall. GASP!

It felt like a dorm-room though. You come into a hallway area then your room is a single key. The fixtures in the bathroom were old and showed some calcium buildup, but they were not dirty. AC unit worked just fine and the price was right for this style of motel.

If you wear paris hilton style sunglasses, dont stay here. However if you are a NORMAL person, this motel is just fine for the price range. The positive reviews of this motel are the most accurate. The nit-picking is unnecessary and the reviews titled ""horrible and health hazard" are something out of a silver spoon fed spoiled brat's mouth based on what i observed at this motel. If you expect a 4 star motel/hotel, then dont stay here. If you are somewhat on a budget, this place is just fine for anyone. The sheets and bedding were clean and there were no weird smells or bugs anywhere.

Consider where you are staying. This town is old and very few things have changed, including the motels!

This motel is very old and the room shows its age. There was a tile missing from the bathroom wall and a couple of small stains on the carpet. However, the room was very clean and the employees were friendly. I'd definitely stay again.

Sleep in your car if you must, just don't stay here. My husband and I are spur of the moment travelers, which can lead to some really great adventures. The Elkins Motor Lodge was an adventure, all right, but not the good kind. It was the only budget motel in town with a room-that should have been our first clue. Simple is fine, outdated is fine, mold and dirt are not. The carpet was so dirty and stained I refused to take my socks off. The bathroom was dirty and moldy with no electrical outlet. The drawers were falling apart and had old newspapers and food in them. The bed slanted to the left and downhill, we woke up with our feet hanging over the edge. Need I say more? Do yourself a favor and don't stay here!

We stayed at the Motor Lodge for 2-3 days during the 4th of July weekend in 2010. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They also served some bagels/muffins in the morning. Rooms were really, really, old, but also, really clean. The only problem I had was that I couldn't plug in my laptop to the wall socket (you have to look for them, they are closer to the floor than you think and the same color as the floor), but our other laptop could be plugged in. For the price and location, we think this was a nice place to stay for a few days. If you are picky, I am sure you can find things to complain about, but we chose this place as just a "place to sleep", and it did the job.
