My first time to visit Charleston, WV and not my last. I enjoyed the local people, the white river rafting/fishing and look forward to returning to experience the zip lines and more rafting! The hotel is newly rennovated and lovely inside. If you are traveling with children on a vacation or an extended stay on business, their 2 room suites is the way to go! It has a full kitchen, living area with a separtate bedroom...very comfortable!

Visited this property for a 3 day business conference. the hotel has been recently renovated; however, one of the elevators was out of service 3 days. There are many elderly women in our business conference attendees, so this was not good news. The food was not great, just ordinary. The staff was wonderful and helpful, however. I guess you have to pick your preferences and make a decision what is most important to you!

This is an older property at which they have almost completed the process of doing a total modernization and make-over. From the lobby, to the restaurant/bar area, to the hallways and guest rooms, there is nothing left of the old "drab and dreary Holiday Inn look". About the only things they have left to do in order to complete the job are a little bit of exterior landscaping and replacing the elevator cars. The room in which I stayed was bright, clean, and well appointed. The wireless Internet access was convenient, and there is ample room at the desk for getting paperwork done in the room after the normal work day is done. The Staff with whom I had any contact were professional, friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast buffet offered a good (and tasty) selection of fresh fruits, cereals, breads, and some pastries, as well as scrambled eggs and sausage. Check-in was quick and efficient (and they were helpful with directions for getting to a couple of local restaurants. Check-out was expedited by having a statement slid under the door to the room during the early morning hours. The hotel is located very close to an exit off of I-64. However, I suggest you take a close look at the driving directions on your reservation confirmation, or call ahead for specific directions on how to get from the exit off the Interstate to the hotel (the General Motors navigation system in my car would not recognize the address of the hotel - despite the fact that the system was updated this year).

My wife & I stayed here on our way from Harrisburg, Pa to Nashville, Tn. What a beautiful hotel!! Employees were friendly and always spoke in passing. The room we were in was beautiful and clean, the bed very comfortable. We enjoyed the lounge on arrival for a couple drinks to wash the trail dust down from our days drive. Breakfast the next morning before we left was very delicious. We will stay here again in the future and recommend this hotel highly!!!!!
