“Warm & Comfy Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

My husband and I have stayed at the Carriage Inn B&B twice. The first time we stayed in the Carriage House suite and the second time we stayed in the Copper Beech Suite. Both are equally as charming and romantic as the other! And both have the best jacuzzis in the world! The owners, Donn & Marie, are very accommodating and gracious hosts. They go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. The breakfasts are always yummy (this last visit we had pumpkin pancakes!) and they always provide an afternoon snack of cookies, fruit or some great appetizer dish!
We highly recommend this B&B! It stands out above the rest.
Jamey Lord

Room Tip: Highly recommend the Copper Beech Suite or the Carriage House Suite. Both have jacuzzis!

“Great B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

Hosts, Donn and Marie welcomed us into their historical home and treated us as priviledged guests. The rooms sparkled with antique decor. Breakfast, Donn's specialty, was superb. Quality snacks and beverages were available 24 hours. We will return.

Room Tip: All nice rooms. We especially liked ours, the Shenandoah Room.

“Relaxing stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

We arrived a little late and Marie was kind enough to offer us delicious raspberry bars, tea and give us a tour of the home and a little history lesson. The breakfast the next morning was really great and was brought promptly to our room as was previously arranged. We stayed in a room where we could eat in the room. It was more cozy and fun. Donn and Marie made us feel very welcome and I only regret that we could only stay the night. Will definately be planning another trip soon.

“Homey”

Set back off the street, with a lovely grassy lawn and large old trees, the inn's front porch was a very inviting place to sit with morning coffee or evening tea (of which they offered a fine selection, including decaf). Urns of hot water and coffee were always available. Perfectly situated for historic walking tours or leisurely strolls around the beautiful neighborhood. Comfy chairs and plenty of space in our room made us feel like we were in our own home. Arriving after dark, we felt welcomed by the warm lighting in the entryway and our room, as well as the sweetness of the innkeepers and the goodies available for a snack. Decor was tastefully done and not overdone. Innkeepers' delight with the home's history was infectious. We could easily stay there a full week, just relaxing and enjoying the ambiance.

“Wonderful, Warm, & Welcoming!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

I've stayed at the Carriage Inn several times, each time in a different room. It's hard to say which would be my favorite. The Robin's Nest is on the top floor and is a delightful getaway! The period decor is elegant, yet warm...not at all stuffy. The hosts, Donn & Marie, have a knack for making one feel as though they are a long lost friend and incredibly special. There's an atmosphere of kindness and happiness, but one never feels intruded upon. The food is delicious and special dietary needs are met with grace. This is a must for anyone traveling through the area. Whether a history buff, hitting the tracks, antiquing, or heading to DC, secure a room today!

Room Tip: Only one room on ground floor, the rest are on the 2nd and 3rd. If stairs are an issue let them kno...
