The Cottonwood Inn was a very refreshing vaction. Living in a big city it's always nice to get away and I highly recommend the Cottonwood Inn as the place to go. The house is wonderful and the room my fiance and I stayed in, though it was said to be one of the smaller rooms, was a nice size. The Inn keepers are very nice and gave us a map of the area and made great recommendations for places to eat and for entertainment. They also fixed a great breakfast every morning for all of the guests.

I loved it. It was beautiful. We went in the middle of winter and it was spacious and the hosts made you feel really welcome, especially with leaving out hot homemade apple cider and a warm fire. It was a trek up the stairs though, but I was pregnant at the time. No TV's no Radios either, so you spend a lot of time with your mate. We played monopoly until 3 AM, and it was a lot of fun, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the owners make a large breakfast in the morning. I enjoyed it IMMENSELY.

We've just returned from a great stay at the Cottonwood Inn Bed and Breakfast just outside Charles Town, West Virginia. Charles Town is close to both historic Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown (a great little town.) The hosts, John and Barbara, were so warm and friendly that we almost felt like family. And John makes a great french toast. The Inn was lovely, comfortable and cheerful. Our room was bright and looked out over the beautiful grounds and the stream. Our large bath had a wonderful claw-foot tub. While wandering the grounds one evening we saw several deer and three red fox. John told us later that a neighbor raises peacocks and occasionally they are treated to the sight of a stray male peacock in the yard. We have had a couple experiences with less than friendly B&Bs recently and I had almost decided that they were not for me. I told John and Barbara when we left that they had reinstated my faith and I will definitely be back. If you're planning a stay in the area, the Cottonwood Inn is surely a good bet.
