“Super8 Motel disguised as Hampton Inn”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2009

This hotel did not live up to the Hampton Inn reputation. I was very disappointed with the noise. Constant door slamming and running in the room above us was the theme for the night. The walls were so paper thin you could hear people talking in the parking lot and surrounding rooms. The air conditioner was extremely loud when it would cycle on and off, and would startle you awake every 15 minutes or so. Our bathroom door would not shut. The biggest disappointment of all was the bed. No fluffy pillowtop mattress here! Clearly not worth the $119+tax that we spent.

Not much to recommend here. Desk staff is not at all professional or hospitable, the rooms smell, the halls are noisy and all sounds penetrate right into the rooms.

“Excellent”

We were looking for a place close to Interstate I79 about halfway between Charston and Morgantown. Another Hampton Inn was closer to the Interstate, but full when we tried to book the night before. We normally would not have strayed this far off-route - 9 miles. As it turned out, it was worth the 9 mile detour.

We look for Clean, Comfortable and Quiet in a motel room, and it was. We were surprised at how quiet it was since the place was packed. Staff was friendly, breakfast was above average.

We tried Maggies for dinner (very late in the evening) as recommended by others, here, and by the staff. It was ok, nothing special. But then, when you are traveling, just ok is a plus.

My wife wants to try other chains, but experiences like this keep us coming back to Hampton Inn as good value for our money.

“Comfortable Hotel”

My husband and I were attending a family reunion in Buckhannon over the 4th of July holiday and stayed at the Hampton Inn. We had a room with a king bed and a sofabed. The room was clean, spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. The duvet cover was beautiful and the pillows comfortable and large. The bathroom was spacious and we enjoyed the shower head with different settings as well as the curved shower rod.

The staff was very friendly even when the power went out at 8:30 AM one morning of our stay. The power outage was not the fault of the hotel and power was restored during the day. The morning breakfast was good. We didn't have a chance to use the indoor pool or exercise room, but they looked very nice. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay just on the edge of town. It's newness is a plus after seeing some of the motels that are competition in town. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Liked — Comfortable bed, room cleanliness and spacious room
  • Disliked — Nothing!

“Typical Hampton Inn”

We stayed in room 212 on 10/24/07 for a one night stay. The motel is located on Wbuc rd. off rte.33 by a 84 lumber store outside of downtown Buckhannon. The room and motel was very well kept and clean. It is in a safe area with decent parking also.Like most all Hampton Inns that we have stayed in there was the usual problem....noise from rooms beside you and from upstairs above you as well.Apparently, they spend all their money on fluff but not on soundproofing the walls or floors or ceilings. The other tourists were not intentionally loud, just normal, but you could here toliets flushing, doors closing, talking and walking. For a very good meal,I suggest CJ Maggies in downtown Buckhannon.
