After a long drive it was time to pull into a hotel. We stoped at the Travelodge with it being one of our only options. After hauling all our things into the room, it came to my attention that the room looked like a murder scene. My bed had a blood stain on it. The bathroom looked like it had been cleaned with dirt and filth. Then I was wooken up early the next morning with a Coke truck parking by the door of my room. The only amenity was free breakfast which was compareble to the room. Cereal, bageals, Coffee, from last week.

I have reviewed this hotel 2 times previously. I have found that the rooms in the 500's are the best rooms so be sure to ask for those when reserving your room if you are wanting to stay here. I always use their website especially being Wyndham points member and search online for any promotion/discount codes.

Checked in tonite & they had us set to go in a smoking room in the 300's. (I had requested non-smoking). I got that straightened out & we got room 509. However, 509 is at the end of the building and discovered the farthest from the hot water heater. When no hot water after running the faucet for a couple minutes went to ask & was told to let it run for at least 15 minutes & it should then be warm (what a waste of water!). Also, expressed concern at the low volume of air from the heater (it was 17 outside). Discovered it is a heat pump & would eventually warm up the room.

I said we needed to be warm before morning & requested money back & the front desk promptly refunded the money. Don't know if he would have if I hadn't expressed my feelings about lower cost rooms in the area that I knew had hot water & heat (in even colder weather).

If you need a hotel in this area--be sure to ask for room in the 500's. Also, try to find someplace else for cold winter stays.

So off to Days Inn in White Hall/Fairmont. Watch for online promo codes.

It looked clean at first inspection. But later that evening we found the problems. The toilet seat was broken and moved all over when you sat on it. The sink did not have a plug and never gave us hot water. The climate control would not adjust. The pillows were paper thin. It sounded and smelled like the room next door was used by the hour, Therefore, we did not get much sleep. In the morning, there was not hot water in the shower. When we checked out, I told them at the desk about the toilet, cold shower and brothel next door, they said it must be everyone was showering at the same time and asked me if I needed a receipt. I told them I would rather have a refund, and I was ignored. The breakfast consisted of corn flakes, rice crispies, toast, bagels, oatmeal, apples, oranges, bananas, danish, mini muffins, milk and coffee, orange and apple juice, and maybe tea.

This is what I saw when I walked in...bugs on the carpet, bugs flying in the air, floor dirty, drapes torn and off the slider,stains, stains everywhere, no sofa thank goodness, chairs fit for a childs backside (2 to be exact), tile floor with dead bugs. Pillows flat with very thin pillow cases and visually seeing the stains. I walked out wondering how many fleas were on myself and my dog. Oh and the wifi...no connection and phone not working to the front desk.COME ON PEOPLE YOU EXPECT MONEY FOR THIS PLACE!! Ahhh, my recommendations...FIND ANOTHER MOTEL.
