Cacapon is one of WV's beautiful State Parks. Rooms at the lodge are small, but very clean and comfortable. We booked too late to reserve one of their cabins for the weekend. Staff (especially Angie) was exceptional in every way, including suggestions and reserving tables for accommodating our group of 14 for a family birthday gathering. In addition to our rooms, our family (3 generations, ranging in age from 75 to 4) decided to rent a small "conference room" in the lodge to gather for conversation, cocktails, board games, birthday cake, etc. We also met there before/after activities, including hiking in the park, golfing, Berkeley Springs shopping, Berkeley Springs State Park spa facilities, etc. The Lodge had lots of entertainment for the young ones in our party, including table tennis, shuffleboard, pinball machines, etc. in the lower level of the lodge (bring quarters!). Meals at the Lodge were quite good...many choices for adults and children. The restaurant service at the Lodge was exceptional.

Just got back after 2 nights here in the Lodge, must say, we enjoyed it Very Much! Extra Small Rooms, but had everything we needed! The Lodge is perfect for couples, families, groups. We would go back again and take the whole family with us. It was a perfect out of the way place if you need to get away from city caos! I actually read a book! Clean Comfortable and the Views of the Mountains were Beautiful this time of year! Oh, and the FOOD was Awesome!!

My husband, adult son and I packed up the dog and checked into a log cabin at Cacapon Resort State Park for the weekend. This is a truly gorgeous park with nice facilities like a little lake beach, a golf course, tennis courts and many hiking trails, and it's just two hours from D.C. The CCC-built cabin had two small bedrooms, small kitchen, bath and great room with a beautiful old stone fireplace. It was immaculate, which is not easy in the middle of the woods. It could use some updating, but everything is perfectly functional. There were 6 or 7 cabins on a cul de sac, visible to but well spaced from one another. Beds and bedding were fine, though we expected twin beds and got bunks. If you like nature and don't expect a quaint B&B kind of atmosphere, you'll love it here; if bugs and other wildlife bother you, it's not for you. Aside from all of the park's amenities, it's close to Berkely Springs, which has a number of nice restaurants, galleries, etc., and a short drive to a lot of historic spots, so it's perfect for the nature-loving, penny pinching family or couple's getaway. We appreciate that they have some dog-friendly cabins. The park's lodge has a restaurant with decent food, but we appreciated the ability to either prepare our own meals or go into Berkeley Springs.

it was ok, i got sick (not from there) so i didn't have much to do front desk had an aditude
and the golf personell were about as nice as a rabid phirana. food was bad and room was dusty
