“Nice hotel with a great location in Berkeley Springs.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

My wife and I went to Berkeley Springs for a quick weekend get away. Despite the mixed reviews, we decided to stay there because of the location.

We had asked for a King bed with an in room Jacuzzi. When we arrived, we were told that the room we had selected had no heat and that we'd been upgraded to the Betty Lou Suite. The room was clean and neat, well heated and it was nice to have a sitting room. But, no jacuzzi.

The service was excellent both in the restaurant and at check in and out.

Bottom Line - A nice hotel, centrally located with plenty of parking and excellent service. But remember, this is not an urban area, so don't expect it to be a City-style five star hotel.

“Front desk Barb ruined our stay!”

First I have to say our room and the Inn was fine. Our bed was comfy. Our room was clean. We loved the restaurants in town and the Bohemian feel of the people in town Now for the staff,Tina was funny and Dan in the Tavern was a hoot. We did arrive early and were told by barb that the Inn was full and it would be a 4 hour wait. So we went to the restaurant and were told by the waitress that there was only 2 rooms being used and one of them were friends that we were meeting there. Next thing as we were eating barb walked in and said " I heard that you are ticked off!" we have never been verbally attacked like that before ever! She still insisted that the Inn was full and to come back at 2:30. We have no idea how but she did come back 10 minutes later with keys to our rooms! Later that afternoon we went in to the sitting room to have drinks and conversation with the 2 other couples that we were with, Barb came in and once again yelled at us, asked us why we were In there as the door was closed and that there had been painters in there. There was not any painters in there! Why did she not allow us in there? So after being yelled at and scolded from the time we walked in the door , we spent all of our money down the street. She single handedly is killing the business which is a shame for such a beautiful and artsy town

“Nice definitely non-chain hotel”

I have always wanted to stay here again. Had stayed about 20 years ago. I like the historic aspects with the castle on the hill above and right next to the state park. In the summer my kids love catching crayfish in the spring sluices. This time I as just traveling with my wife. I had a limited per diem and the staff gave us a nice room and met my per diem. The room was older (It is a historic hotel) but nicely painted and well maintained. Good quiet heat and a nice shower along with new mattresses. The lobby has memorabilia and nice sitting room and fireplace.

Room Tip: Ask them for a good room and good rate in off season. They are accommodating.

“Outgoing, yet relaxing Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

We had a fun filled relaxing weekend! Enjoyed an amazing spa treatment, the food is much improved and the prices are affordable. No need to search for entertainment Dan and Brandy will surely keep you laughing in the Pub. They offered a touch of fine dining in a laid back keep you laughing atmosphere. Our room was clean as well as the sitting areas. The staff was friendly although the front desk was a bit snippy and seemed frustrated but there can't be a ray of sunshine around every coroner. We will be returning to the Inn and encourage others to visit.

“Rave Reviews!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

My friend and I toured The Country Inn today looking for a place to celebrate my sister's bachlorette party in March. I was nervous as to what to expect from our visit since the reviews on Trip Advisor were horrible!! Well, let me tell you...I was blown away!! First, the Inn is gorgeous!
We were greeted by a very friendly front desk person.
We met with Ginger(Manager) who proceeded to tell us that our tour will consist of viewing the rooms, touring the spa, and end with a complimentary lunch. WOW!!!
We toured both the rooms in the Inn and the tower.
The rooms were spacious and very clean. The spa was beautiful and very inviting.
We dined in the tavern. The service was incredible and the food was delicious . We both had crabcakes which were the best crabcakes I've ever had and I'm from Maryland!!!

The staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt that our business would be welcomed and greatly appreciated here. And that our stay would be enjoyable . I'm so glad i decided to come see for myself rather than base my decision soley on the reviews. I suggest you do the same. You won't be dissappointed! I'm so excited to come back in March and celebrate my sister's bachlorette party with great confidence that we selected the BEST place in town!!!
