1st night a dream on 2nd floor. Returned 4 days later and stayed on 1st floor......not sure but wondered if the sheets had been changed from prior traveler.....kind of wrinkly and smelled interesting. Dont want to think about it too much. Will assume the best. Will keep happy thoughts of the nice super clean room the first night. Breakfast was well-prepared and tended. The staff employee in charge of breakfast area was more than kind. Do not look for hot items on this breakfast...it's great if you like the basics, which was fine with me. Hubby was wishing for sausage or bacon but no biggie. Pool was warm. A few tiles missing but adequate. Also a HOT hot tub. Very nice after travel. Do yourself a favor and use the coupon you can get picking up the little travel magazine at the WVa travel center or gas stations along the highway. Applebees nearby and few other restaurants.

My family was on our way through to Florida and we stopped at exit 44 on Harper Road. We checked around at a few other hotels but really wasn't trying to buy the places just needed to stop. We went to the Microtel and as soon as my husband and myself walked through the door we was greeted and didn't have to wait for a front desk clerk to arrive. Her name was Sarah and she was wonderful. She gave us a great deal on our room and helped us with choices on where to eat. When we got to our room it was a nice room but the carpet was rippled and torn in a few areas but very clean so we called the front desk and she did not hesitate to change rooms for us. We have a yound child that would have had a field day with the carpet.. But the next morning the front desk clerk KP checked us out and he was very nice and helpful as well. The check out was fast. We went to breakfast and seen a few housekeepers trying to keep the bar cleaned up and they was also very wonderful. The only problem I could see with this hotel was the carpet does need replaced, furniture in the lobby does need to replaced and the breakfast could be a little better with choices but if you just need something small and quick to eat the breakfast is fine. Our room was lovely the staff is wonderful and we will always stop at this hotel when we come through the area. I need to mentio the beds.. We slept so great. Wonderful good nights rest.

Our third party booking (hotels dot com) never came through but the desk person straightened it out...and fortunately had a room available. The hotel is modern, efficient and clean. The room was small but comfy and fine for a one night stay. The price was $15-25 cheaper than neighboring hotels and included a light continental breakfast and a small indoor pool. Some fresh fruit would have been nice with breakfast, however.

Stayed here for one night on the way to a NASCAR race in October 2011. I have stayed in a fair number of Microtel's and this is one of the best ones. The beds were very comfy, the room quite clean. Had a late check in, and that was no problem. They have a large parking lot where we parked our camper for the overnite. It is a little more expensive than most Microtel's, though. The breakfast is a bit weak though......
