Nice Clean Hotel The People Are Friendly.. Its a Quite Place to stay .. I Will be staying there again

We stayed here because it was one of the few hotels available in a very busy Beckley. Right off the bat the Hotel started poorly. A nice drip from a leaky window airconditioner greeted us on the way in along with an overflowing garbage can. The hotel itself stinks of stale musty air and cigarettes . When we finally got our room, someone else was already in it! We quickly got a replacement room which although having a nice tv, fridge and microwave was very dingy and dirty with peeling paint, and stains on the walls. We decided to check out the pool which is bizarrely separated from the rest of the hotel from the asphalt parking lot by a fair distance. Why? who knows! Later on the real nightmare began as we were kept awake by a stream of smokers using the EMERGENCY ONLY exit door located 5 ft away from our room door and slamming it everytime they went through it. This resulted in smoke entering the hotel (and our room) from outside. So much for a non smoking room! This went on until 2AM! When I complained the next day to the manager and asked why the hotel would allow people to continously use an "emergency only" exit door for smoking purposes and keep people awake, I was answered with "I sincerely apologize" but no compensation. Avoid this hotel at all costs and stay somewhere that might value your business.

After a long day traveling for $145 we were hoping for a pleasant greeting and a comfortable room. The outside looked uncared for though once inside, the lobby was clean. The young girl was put out with the computer. There is no elevator, the hallways were foreboding. The room was clean, the chairs had old spots on them. There was a pamphlet for HBO but it wasn't available. The same young girl told us, "she must have canceled it." we won't try a Comfort Inn again.

Stayed here one night passing through. Even though the hotel was close to being full I was able to park reasonably close to the back door. Everything was in working order and the bed was comfy. Good water pressure in the shower, although the fan didn't keep it from steaming up the bathroom. Towels were in good shape. No problem with noise even though my room was on the front (freeway) side. All staff members were helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was adequate, with something resembling scrambled eggs and sausage for hot selections along with the usual waffles, breads, bagels, and cereals.
Nice sized fridge and very small microwave in the room. No flat screen TV (25" tube) in my room but I did see other rooms that did have them.
The bad things:
No elevator, had to carry everything up the stairs.
Bright exterior lights shining on the windows on the front side of the hotel=not very dark in the room at night.
Carpets need to be cleaned.
Half of the second floor is the smoking section, and yes it really stinks in that part of the hallway. Further down into the non-smoking section is fine.
All things considered, I would definitely stay here again.
