Just got home from spending the weekend touring the Yakima valley wine country. It was our 28th wedding anniversary getaway. The hostess at the B&B treated us to an incredible stay. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast each morning was over the top. At night we could snack on microwave popcorn, cookies and ice cream as we watched a movie on the huge flatscreen.
We can't wait til the next time we have the pleasure of staying here.

Just to let others know, it is located in the middle of town and there's not alot going on in Sunnyside. If you're touring the Winery's it's a great central location.

Service - Great service, helpful with a friendly smile. Breakfast was all home made and lots to go round. Could help yourself to unlimited hot coffee/soft drinks/ice anytime of day. Patio area to relax with your own dinner in the warm evening and watch the sun go down.
Rooms - Very spacious and warm. All en suite and with all facilities you could possibly need including king size jacuzzi/bath (tried this out and yes it did work!).
Location/Amenities - This is a small town so easy to find and close to a few (small town!) restaurants.
Liked Best - Home cooked breakfasts and king size jacuzzi/bath
Liked Least - Soft mattress

My husband and daughter were traveling through Sunnyside Washington, on their way to Seattle. I chose the Bed and Breakfast after looking at their web site. I thought it would be nicer than a hotel along the way - I WAS WRONG. DO NOT STAY HERE.
I made the reservation, and was assured that their room was comfortable and that the extra foton sleeper would be made up for my daughter.
They arrived very tired from driving a long way, and the room smelled like cat urine, and was unclean. The foton sleeper was not made up, and their room was in the basement with not much ventilation. It was very hot that day, and their is no air conditioning, and not a very good way to get fresh air.
My husband and daughter were miserable!! VERY BAD.

We had a terrific stay at this B&B! We were there for the weekend to do some wine tasting and relax in the sunshine - the Sunnyside Inn was in a great location to do just that. No, the town is nothing to write home about (it's a small dairying town that basically rolls up the sidewalk at night) but it's right in the middle of wine country with about 40 wineries within a 20 min drive in any direction.

We loved that this place felt like staying at a good friend's house; very relaxing and friendly, instead of being fancy or stuffy. We stayed in the Jean room, which was HUGE - very comfortable and quiet. The breakfasts were great, and the evening desserts yummy. The outdoor patio was perfect for hanging out in the sun and reading a magazine after breakfast, or enjoying the sunset and drinking some wine after dinner.

I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fun, relaxing place to stay.

This is a great hotel for wine tasting in the Yakima Valley Region.

I'm a stickler for cleanliness. The hotel is good for cleanliness. I would prefer a bit more attention to detail but overall it is clean.

The decor has been updated. Maybe they've done some work since the other reviews. The pictures speak for themself.

The bedding and decorations are of good quality. Don't expect 1,000 thread count Egyptian Cotton - but clean nice bedding. It isn't luxorious - but it is nice and quaint.

It is very quiet - on a side-street.

This is not Napa. Sunnyside is not Yountville nor St. Helena. You won't see the rich and famous or multi-million dollar homes.

On the other hand this is a great area for wine tasting. Most tastings are free. Those that are not are a nominal charge and they'll generally refund the charge with the purchase of a single bottle. There aren't 10 million plus visitors so don't expect the traffic jams of the Silverado trail. Do expect to taste exceptional wines at great prices. Personally, I'm sick and tired of trying mediocre Napa/Sonoma Cabernets priced at $30.00 on up.

In the Yakima Valley - you will see Napa/Sonoma like it was 30-40 years ago. You will meet winemakers and maybe an owner.

Sunnyside is blue-collar. But there is good low-priced food. We really enjoyed the local brew-pub. Also, the owners directed us to a local Mexican restaurant that had the best Fajitas I ever had (and I'm including Mexico). Don't expect Haute-cuisine in Sunnyside.

Sunnyside is a great starting point for explorying the wine regions. The Sunnyside B&B is a good value - or you could spend more and stay at the Comfort Inn right next to the highway.

  • Liked — Size, location, and quietness of the room
  • Disliked — Could be a little bit cleaner - put in close quarters with others at breakfast
