“5 generations and the cabin looked and felt it”

Wanted to get away before the christmas weeknd, Have stopped for breakfast and lunch many times. Very quaint . 100 miles from home out of the city. Just wanted a break and got a rustic cabin. unfortunately we arrived in the evening, had dinner, ( the only people who did) checked out the starry night and then...
yes it was rustic, holes in the linoleum, rickety sinks, torn 1935 wall paper, we put a blanket on the couch just to make the wife feel better but it was too late to turn around and go home.
the bed was broken it had been there for at least 3 of the generations I mean this thing cracked and groaned with every flinch
I slept on the couch
Didnt really sleep but packed up and left at 5am
I left a pretty descriptive remark card but no response and no refund.
I recommend a stop for the cinnamon rolls but thats about it
the place needs a tremendous overhal
you would think that if you only have 1 couple coming up in the dead of winter the "resort"(?)
would give put up a good show. Definetley not the case.
might be fun in the summer for a family who wants to play in the woods
Not a place for comfort
YUCK

“Peaceful, quiet and quaint. Thanks for a great experience!”

We stayed at the Challet during Labor Day weekend. Everything met our expectation - no visible dust, no rats - just bunnies, peace and quiet - darn good time.

I read a lot of the reviews and were a little concerned with comments about cleanliness etc. However, if you think about it, it's not Vegas. We were there to hike and enjoy the nature. A little dust and cobweb don't bother us much (and let me emphasize this again - no dust and cobweb in our Challet.) And rats? Rent the Challet. We didn't see any.

Can't comment about whether it's worth the money though. To us, it does. Small business and with the road close during winter - I bet things are tough.

Only thing that bothered me a little is WIFI is no longer available. This needs to be updated on the website. It's all about setting the right expectation.

Anyway, we left a tip to encourage cleaning crew to keep up the good work. Next time, we will try the theme cabin. Look rustic. :-)

“Quiet and peaceful”

OK- here's the deal. We have stayed in the country cabins, chalets, and theme cabins numerous times. We LOVE the location and have chosen to accept the lack of cleanliness and some of the other things that may not be up to par at this place. I always take my disinfectant to clean everything with and I wash all of the dishes before we use any of them. This should not have to be done at the prices they charge, but we do it anyway. No, I don't like all of the dust and the filthy tub or shower.(Maybe management should make some inspections after the cabins are cleaned). I am disappointed that they no longer have WiFi because we stay for a week when we go and that was a really important amenity to us. But, I love waking up with deer in my yard and bunnies hopping all around. We have taken friends with us and they enjoyed it also (even if a mouse did run across my friend's foot in the kitchen!).

“Decent but overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

My wife and I stayed here for two nights during a trip through the Pacific Northwest. There aren't many options in the Rockport/Marblemount area. We made a reservation here because our first choice (Buffalo Run Inn, which had good TripAdvisor reviews, and rooms around $50/night) was full.

After reading negative reviews of some of the older and less expensive options at Skagit River Resort / Clark's Cabins, we decided to reserve one of the chalets (the newest units at the resort). These are freestanding units with a queen bed, bathroom, and mini-kitchen (fridge and sink).

The chalet was small (would be better if it didn't have an uncomfortable futon taking up space) but cozy. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept well. The chalet was reasonably clean (bathroom and linens were both very clean) but it was a little dusty and the corners could have used a more careful cleaning.

Overall we were satisfied with the quality of the accommodation but thought that it was overpriced at $129/night given that a well-regarded nearby accommodation was less than half that. But North Cascades is a beautiful area so we were glad we came!

“Loved it..want to go back.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

Individual cabins in forest setting, run by a family. The owners very friendly and helpful. One can tell they love what they do. Their restaurant had good home cooked food. Nice wait staff. Only stayed one night on our way home via North Cascades highway. Definitely would like to return for a few days. The cabins are well decorated, reminds one of grandmas house. Kitchen well stocked with dishes etc. Cable TV. Lovely grounds and wild life abound. Pet friendly which was a plus for us.
