The staff was nice enough, but the one thing you're after in a budget motel -- a clean, comfortable room -- I did not have. My aged room reeked so badly of residual smoke --from how long ago, I couldn't fathom -- that I literally could not sleep. After a couple of hours I had a terrible headache that kept me up the rest of the night. My clothes absorbed some of the smell as well. I could not wait to check out and if not for the late hour of arrival and lack of availability at other nearby hotels, would have left that night. I quickly found available lodging at the Sleep Inn across the river and had a much more enjoyable (and restful) night's rest.
