“Loved Tayberry Cottage (Sept 2010)”

We loved out stay at Tayberry Cottage. We were in the Suite and it is a very beautiful, comfortable and spacious room. The other rooms were smaller but looked just as cozy. We only met Don and one of his teenage sons since our stay was short, but they were most welcoming and Don is a great cook! Don and his wife are fairly new owners but it seems from other reviews the feel is just as warm and relaxing as the previous owners offered.
It's in a great location, close to down town and the fairgrounds. Most striking was it was so quiet, and the tree farm just across the lane gives the location a country feel.
There is a hot tub available that we didn't have time to use.
Would definitely stay here when traveling in the area again!
(One footnote- the city recently renamed their address to 2718 9th Ave SW., so if you print out the page with 80th St. E., you will have trouble finding it. Check for the right address before you leave home)

“Very friendly. We plan to stay here again.”

This home is set outside Puyallup, bordering farm land, but near the town. We had a large room with a separate sitting area where the 12 year old daughter could sleep with a bit of privacy. Breakfast was good, not too heavy; the coffee was good; and the host, Don, was very conversational and available.

“Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2009

We stayed at Tayberry for a week, visiting friends who lived in Puyallup. The rooms are just the same as the pictures - beautifully decorated and clean. Our gracious host (Terry) provided wonderful breakfasts every morning - even though we sometimes slept kind of late (out partying with friends!). He also helped us out with directions to various places we wanted to see before we left, such as Mt. Ranier, downtown Seattle, etc.
Loved the place and would stay there again in a heartbeat!

“Nice B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2007

The Tayberry is a pretty nice place to stay. The hot tub here is excellent. We sat in it both nices that we stayed, one of which was in a light rain storm with double rainbows over the mountains to the east. We were scheduled to stay in the balcony room, but for some reason got put in the blue room. The blue room is a nice sized room, with a very long bathroom. The bed was pretty good, with a nice sized TV/DVD in alignment for watching from the bed. There is a microwave in the room, but no refrigerator. The bathroom could honestly use a little work. I felt it was a little dirty in a few places and the towels smelled not well. The shower head is a huge rain style head, unfortunately it didn't seem like there was enough pressure for that sized head (but not so little it couldn't be used). It has a bidet. This is a useless fixture in the room that just takes up space. The microwave worked well enough for cooking baked potatoes in it. The breakfasts were a little on the weird side. The first morning we had some sort of German pancake and a sausage. It was good, but a little on the sweet side. The second morning we had scrambled eggs, ham, and an English muffin. This was better than the first morning, but thats because it was more like what we serve ourselves. Terry the host is a very nice guy. Parking on the property was a little tricky. We drive a mid sized truck and had to either go under very low hanging tree branches (ended up catching the roof) or taking on some very very thick blackberry branches (ended up catching the entire side). We really didn't see most of the house, but what we did see was nice. The property is nice, but the neighbor had a few dogs that didn't look too friendly and at least once I saw them come under the fench.

“Loved the Tayberry B&B”

I have just returned from a week in Washington State. This B&B is wonderful and I have never experienced such friendly hosts! I stayed in the suite. The breakfast and freshly baked brownies in the evening were great and I also enjoyed the conversation with our host, Terry.
I paid $125 per night / double occupancy for the suite. There was a beautiful canopy bed and a foldout sofa. Three or four people can easily fit in the suite.
Overall I would say this is probably the best B&B in Washington State! Maybe not the most convenient to Seattle, however if you want to mix a little hospitality with quite countryside then this is an absolute must.
