“Dishonest staff who don't do what they commit to. 3 strikes you're out!”

I made this reservation through Expedia, and the reservation between Expedia and the hotel was totally botched up. We were supposed to have a room with two beds for two nights for April 23 & 24.
When I called April 19 to confirm we only had reservations for one night instead of the two Expedia charged us for (first strike). The Hotel claimed they had fixed the reservation. After checking in on the 23rd, there was only one bed, so my son ended up sleeping on the floor (second strike). Due to the situation we decided to not stay the second night. Joy who was working the front desk on the 24th was willing to refund us, but claimed that because we booked it through Expedia we would have to get the refund from them. After returning home I call Expedia, who in turn calls the hotel. At this point, the hotel LIES to Expedia and tells them we checked out on the 25th! (strike three). On the 25th my son and I were in Seattle. So - bottom line no refund and the staff doesn't do what they say they will. 3 strikes, don't stay here unless you have to.

Dear Guest, we sincerely apologize for the confusion about your reservation. When making internet reservations please read the fine print and notice that the decisions on refunding money comes directly from the source not the hotel. We do not have the resources to refund money that the internet has already collected from you. We are very sorry for the inconvience you experienced! We have addressed this issue with our staff and we are confindent that we know our policies and the policies of the internet sources. Please accept or apology. Thank you!

“Surprised- In a Positive Way!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2009

Planning a last minute trip to Pullman for a football game, we were able to get a room at the Hilltop. My wife read the reviews on Trip Advisor, and needless to say, became very worried. I'm happy to say, we were surprised in a Positive way. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, the hot water was instant. I have absolutely no complaints about the room or any part of the Hotel. The price was a bit stiff, as we were booked on an events weekend...but, oh well, this was a last second deal and we feel lucky to get a room. We also enjoyed the restaurant next door. I found the Hilltop older, but just as favorable as the LaQuinta in Moscow, yet in Pullman. I will definitely stay there again. A.M. breakfast was good, too.

“Avoid at all costs”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2009

Recently stayed in this hotel while travelling to Pullman for a baseball tournament. Requested a room away from traffic and other noise. As luck would have it, we were placed in a room right on the road. Not to mention that when I sat down on the bed and looked down, the bedskirt was covered in what looked like blood. Immediately went down to the front desk and told them I needed another room. Hmmm.............., they said, what to do as they were completely booked. Well, I don't know, find me another room. After looking at 2 other rooms, one of which you could actually see the subfloor through the worn carpet - decided on a king bed "suite" - which was actually just a room with a king bed, a teeny tiny refer., a dishwasher (but no dishes), and a sink. Got a roll away and was assured it was quite comfortable - wrong! Asked for lights to be put into the room because they were out - they never arrived. Had to ask for towels for the 3 of us, soap that hadn't gotten wet, etc.etc.etc. Many on the rest of our team had their rooms either given away or they didn't have them. Some people waiting in the lobby for 2 hours or more to finally be given a room (why?). DO NOT stay here. It is old, tired, dirty and unclean (I don't even think they clean when they clean), worn (walk down the hall and feel the bumps in what they call a carpet), food at breakfast is inedible, the list goes on and on. Should've stayed at Holiday Inn Express. Never, ever again!

“Excellent Customer Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2009

Initially I was booked on the first floor. The rooms were basic hotel fare but very cozy. The bed was comfortable. They do allow pets at this hotel and my first night I got stuck next to a non-stop barking dog. At around midnight I went out to the front desk and asked them if they would do something. Then about an hour later I called and told them they really needed to deal with it.

She went and the people got upset and started being loud and obnoxious. It was a horrible night. The next afternoon when I came back from work I asked the front desk if that group had checked out. They hadn't and I told him what happened and there was no way I could go through another night like that.

He upgraded to me to a suite which I figured was just a bigger room, bigger t.v. etc. The suite was crazy! It was huge and had a massive bed with a huge jacuzzi tub. It was all decked out in Washington State University colors and memorabilia. Comfortable bed in a nice quiet corner of the hotel. I slept so well.

The restaurant has really good food and room service was quick (even though they forgot the ketchup - the front desk set me up with that!).

The front desk clerk is to be commended for doing such a nice thing.
