“Relax by The River"”

The 4 Seasons was in just the right place for our wine tasting tour of Prosser. The house is filled with treasures from all over the world and our room had an African theme. The bed was comfortable and everything was neat and clean. We enjoyed spending an evening with Nancy the Innkeeper and hearing about some of the special pieces in her collection. If we get back to Prosser we will surely stay here again.

“Quiet escape from reality if just for one night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

When I'm on vacation, I dread having to stay at one of the chain motels that are typically located along some noisy highway. Sure, it's easy to get to them and then get back on the road in the morning, but when I want something more peaceful or personal, I stay at a B&B. We decided to run away for one night to do 2 days of wine tasting/buying in the Prosser, WA area and needed to stay somewhere. We selected the 4 Seasons River Inn based on feedback from Tripadvisor. Nice move, that.

Nancy runs this "B&B" which is really a very large single level house located a lawn away from the Yakima river. Now, Nancy is one of those super friendly people and you get to know her instantly. Yes, she's very likable too. When we drove up to the house, she came out to greet us, just like another reviewer said, it's like coming to your Aunt's house for a visit.

The house was built in the 1970s, is amazingly well kept and cozy. We stayed in the Cabernet room which is right off the front entrance of the house, which was helpful when Nancy suggested that we put our cases of wine in the house for safe keeping. When was the last time you got to walk on deep pile shag carpet in your bare feet? The Cabernet room was comfortable and super quiet, we slept well.

Breakfast is served buffet style, so you can eat in the dining room or out on the huge deck or down by the river if you want. You won't go away hungry as Nancy prepared coffee, berry smoothie, granola, yogurt, apple crisp, fresh fruit and a nice egg/potato frittata which was delicious.

During the previous evening, after dinner, we sat out on the deck looking at the lights reflecting in the river as another couple who were staying at the B&B cooked kebabs over a small gas fire pit down near the river for a unique dining experience.

We could have easily stayed more than one night since the B&B is close to many wineries. We'll have to make another trip to this area sometime soon.

“There is a reason it's #1”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

This was our first B&B experience and we loved it. The owner makes you feel as if you are home. She and her assistant don't hover, but they make sure all your needs are cared for. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. There are sleep-number beds in several rooms and each room is decorated individually. They both know the area and have great selections, such a buying food at the local Sat. market and then having a picnic at one of the wineries. They really made our trip and we're hoping to go back.

“What a wonderful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2010

We spent two wonderful nights here after taking our son on a tour of Washington State University. Our wonderful host Nancy, gave us three rooms and all the comforts of home, including baking us brownies our last night there. We swam in the heated pool, soaked in the hot tub, played tennis, billiards, air hockey and cards. My son worked out on in the well appointed gym. Beautiful setting right on the Yakima river. We sat on the back patio in the morning and late afternoon just relaxing, drinking coffee and wine, and laughing. Lit a fire in the gas firepit. So close to all the great wineries around Prosser, we're already planning a return trip with friends for more wine tasting adventures. Although the temptation is to just buy a couple of bottles and have your own tasting right there at the inn.

“All in one getaway!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2010

The 4 Seasons River Inn is a great place to stay particularly if you are traveling with friends! It feels as though you are renting out the place all to yourselves. You have your own private bedrooms and bath and when you want to meet up with others there is a large family room to gather in, or large deck with a cozy fire pit to enjoy your morning breakfast or evening wine. There is additional outside seating as well. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. You can lay in the sun, sit by the river or enjoy a game of tennis. This place really offers it all! Not to mention, the homemade breakfast made by Nancy is amazing!! You will walk away wanting all her recipes!
