I over-nighted at the Commander's Beach House in January, 2012 and found the accommodations to be great. The room was bright, clean and toasty-warm. The breakfast was yummy and the owners most congenial. I'd stay there again. It's right on the waterfront and very close to the downtown area.

I will for sure return to this wonderful get-a-way! Very homey vibe. Jim & Gale are wonderful hosts. The place was clean, warm and in a beautiful setting. You can hear the sound of waves from anywhere in the house...which I loved!

Very cozy; welcoming hosts; within easy walking distance of town and excellent views. Loved "Captain Cutter". Breakfast was delicious.

We decided to do a 'getaway' to Port Townsend for Thanksgiving since our kids had other plans with friends. We had stayed at The Commander's B+B once before and decided to go back. Luckily they had one room left. It's one of the few B+Bs we've stayed at where it seems as if you can really make yourselves at home - and we did. It was a blustery, cold Thanksgiving day, perfect for getting out for a while and then coming back to a good book and the sofa in front of the fireplace. Jim and Gail seem to have developed just the right hosting touch, interested in getting to know you, gracious and welcoming, not on top of you every minute. They made a reservation for us at a good restaurant where we had our traditional - salmon - Thanksgiving dinner. Good recommendation! All in all an enjoyable couple of days.
