“CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP”

This motel has fairly expensive rates for what they actually provide. The outside looks fairly well kept, but the rooms are really lacking. Our room, while being clean, smelled terribly of unwashed underarms, YUCK! Also, all ammenities provided are the cheapest that you can imagine: cheap soap, cheap and yucky coffee, thin pillows, thin towels, and on and on! Also, customers are not charged a one time dog fee, instead it is per night, the area that you are to walk your dog in is covered in dog crap, garbage and cigarette butts.. Even my pooch isn't accustomed to that kind of filth!!! The breakfast that is provided is not filling or plentiful, no eggs, no yogurt, just sugary muffins, etc. One more thing, if you have a dog, you will automatically be on the 1st floor, with no ocean view.

Thank you for sharing your opinions with us. The housekeeping staff inspects each room before arrival and we are glad to hear that you were happy with your cleanliness of your room. Depending upon how the air is blowing we have low tide or paper mill smell(s) that do linger over our way and are deeply sorry that had to endure such an aroma and bad timing. It’s one of the odors no matter how long you live or visit in Port Townsend, you don’t get used to, but learn to accept the tidal water, sea life and paper mill does offer a great many things to and for our town. We do offer coffee, tea, hot chocolate different from your in room 24 hours a day 7 days a week in our lobby. Our pet friendly area is located between the hotel and garden center. We also allow the pet(s) upon the first floor, as some of our guests are highly allergic and the first floor allows outside access and a lot of our guests find it favorable. Our first floor rooms do have views and it can be requested when making a reservation. The pet area is cleaned and serviced by a contractor and out sourced regularly. We do have a conveniently located park “Kah Tai Lagoon” city run and pet friendly just across the street from the hotel that is 21 acres of undeveloped land. It’s the second largest storm water basin in the city with on-site restrooms and parking.

“Just average if that”

Hotel was in a good location but the rooms were old and had no air conditioning of any kind, no fan, nothing. The room was kind of clean and all of the bottom sheets came off as we slept. It was summer so the price was higher than I think it should have been. The web site did not state it had a pool and hot tube which we would have used if we had known. The check in and check out went fine. If you are just looking for a place to sleep this one is OK. Will go back in a pinch but we will not seek it out.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at a higher level for a view of the sound.

“Easy to find”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

No complaints about the facility. We had a late check in and five of us were left standing for over ten minutes while the only person on duty was on a long phone call. It was hotel business, but I think they should have put the person who was asking 100 questions on hold and checked us in.
Free complimentary breakfast was adequate.

“A GETAWAY FOR MY HUSBAND AND I, ENDED IN HORROR!”

I was very disappointed. The pictures online were so misleading. The toilet seat was broken, the room smelled (willing to overlook due to by the beach), bed extremely uncomfortable, and a dump truck outside you window at 6:00am for ten minutes backup beeping and dumping noises. It was also so expensive for what you received. I talked with the manager regrading this and not only did it take forever for him to reply, but all he offered me was a discount. Like I would use it? I gave an opportunity to make things better. All I was asking for a 50.00 credit. Not even a full refund considering we piad close to $200.00 for the night. You couldn't pay me to stay there again and unfortunately, I really don't want to visit Port Townsend again. It's too bad because it has a great beach. If I do, I will stay away from there and tell all my friends to stay clear as well.

“Next time I'm going somewhere else!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

If another part of my family that we travel there with didn't like this place to it's handicapped room I wouldn't stay here (and if they go again next year I am picking another place). We go to visit other family members that live there. The staff is very nice and friendly and the breakfast in the morning is nice so you don't have to go out and get something. Something for everyone! The kids like the swimming pool and hot tub and the view is nice of the harbor.

As far as value I paid less for a nice room in Leavenworth than I did here and that hotel served a free hot breakfast. Also the room decorations need to be updated along with the bedding. We had a 2 queen room but I swear those were full size and not queens, bedding was old and pillow still lumpy!
