Our planned stay of a few days turned into 9 nights and we were glad we had this place to stay each night. I believe the hotel is three years old, but it seemed brand new with very little wear and tear anywhere, and clean throughout.
For the longer stays the on-site laundry was nice and the gym was well equipped.
We had a Queen room (which was fine) which gives you a bed, recliner, and table with two chairs, as well as a stove, fridge and microwave. Had we planned to stay as long as we did we would have gone for a suite just to have a little more room to relax. For a short stay, the queen was fine.
The service was friendly but not bothersome and the honor system treats and video offerings were nice.
We would certainly return on a future visit.
BTW, we recommend Frank's Place for breakfast, the BBQ Joint for lunch, and the China City for dinner. All are less than 5 minutes from the hotel.

This is the newest hotel in Oak Harbor. Very clean! I really like the PAW (Pets are Welcome) program. As someone that travels with my pet it was nice to check in to a decent hotel where they could stay with me. The front desk clerk even provided us with a pet check-in packet and a magnet for the door to let housekeepers or firefighters know there were pets inside.

The rooms were fully furnished with a fridge, stove, microwave, and dishes. This was a good hotel for overnight, but would also be great for longer stays.

No frills, but clean, had all the amenities we needed. Staff were welcoming as well as informative. Not as fancy as Holiday Inn Express, where we often stay, but we were pleased with our room and the accomodations. Only real disappointment was that the bed while ok, was not as good as those at HIE, also the pillows were small and we were not given extras as we are when staying at HIE......but then we didn't really expect them here. Stayed here because we had earned a free night through HIE.... if this is typical of Candlewood Suites, will consider staying at them again when we are "on the road".

This is my third time in the last year that I have stayed at this hotel. I first stayed at the hotel when it first opened, and in the last year I expected to see a bit of wear and tear. However, the hotel still has the 'new' hotel smell. I have been fortunate to stay in the one bedroom suites and appreciate the large room. I cooked many meals during my last stay since I was there for three weeks. The rooms are quiet and soundproof. The Internet is free and speedy. Lastly, the staff are friendly and helpful. I have recommended this hotel to several work colleagues and they were not disappointed.
